If your skeptical about the price come here during happy hour Monday-Thursday 5 pm - 7 pm. Their perfection of martinis are only $10 each and their appetizers are $5 each. You would end up coming here for dinner afterwards.
I’ll start off with the positives.. the food was phenomenal and the service was good. Giving 3 stars because for a restaurant being hard to get a reservation for, the vibes of the chop house weren’t vibing. We spent over $150 and there were people in shorts and leggings the weekend before Valentine’s Day. My biggest flaw was my old fashion having orange pulp in my old fashion. It’s supposed to be an upscale place. Just really confused.
We made our reservation a week in advance due to Mardi Gras. We started with crab cakes then had the ribeyes with mashed potatoes and green beans. All were delicious. Samira was our server and she was great, super friendly.
Piney Creek took our reservations a month ago. Confirmed they would be open Christmas Eve. When we didn’t get a call to confirm, we called them. They said “we’re not open”. Why didn’t they notify us? No answer. You can do better in Bastrop.
After three years of seriously inconsistent food coming out of the kitchen I may be done with piney creek. This makes me sad since it is the only steak house we have in town and they do buy good steaks even if they don't cook them correctly. I will eat the steak if it is not the 'perfect' medium or if it is even more of a well done, but I do not like my plate to moo at me. Well now they have gone and changed up something in their drink recipes too, so my favorite cocktail tastes bad. Guess I'll be saving money by cooking my own steak and making my own drinks at home now.
It was busy the night we went, so the service was a little slow. However, the atmosphere and pleasant waitress made up for it. The Ribeye stake was great! My wife loved her Filet. Overall, great experience!
