I have been coming here for years and they have new owners the food was most the same but not the same I won’t be coming here like before
After reading some of the wildly racist and Islamophobic reviews, my family and I decided to come out here with a group of 18. The ownership has changed, yes, and the menu is now completely hand cut zabiha halal, making it very inclusive for all. Despite the ownership change, ALL of the cooks are still the same. The quality of food was amazing and authentic. The ambiance was wonderful. The service was fantastic. Our entire family loved the food, and we did not have to worry about cross contamination or non-halal ingredients. We had a wonderful experience and I am definitely planning to go again.
***UPDATE: The owners of Phaya Thai sold the business on December 16, 2023. We were informed the recipes were also sold to the new owner, a lovely gentleman who also owns the market next door. They need a little more time to perfect the food; for now, we aren't going here as often anymore. ****** I would beg & plead with Sactown Magazine to include this restaurant in its "Best of the City" issue -- this is some of the most delicious, consistent, beautiful Thai food in Sacramento. I am newer to the neighborhood, but this spot has been here for several years. I've eaten here about a dozen or so times. Casey and his wife Ta, also the chef, run a tight ship as food flies out the door during the peak dinner hour. Casey is always warm and welcoming. It never matters how slammed they are -- he always presents a calm and professional demeanor when greeting you, taking your order, or bringing out food for takeout orders. As their popularity has soared with Door Dash and other food delivery companies, be advised that wait time can be considerable. If you call your order in, wait time can be as long as an hour and forty-five minutes. If you dine in, however, your order goes to the front of the line. Also be advised there are no paper menus if you choose to dine in. You can scan the QR code from the table, or if that doesn't work, you can take a look at the laminated menu above the cash register (photos posted with this review of the entire menu). The food is first class and looks beautiful on the large, white dishware they use. It is arranged artfully on the plate and is always hot and freshly prepared. I have tried several of the curry dishes and noodles -- they will cook it according to your desired spiciness (medium, hot, and Thai hot). The Tom Kha (soup) is my personal favorite (order the pot if your party is larger than 2), as is the Pad Thai. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is warm and comfortable; there are no television sets in the room or loud music playing. Just about the only commotion is Casey fulfilling orders! Great place - neighborhood gem. Highly recommend!!
THIS IS NO LONGER A THAI RESTAURANT AS OF 2024!!!! It has been taken over by a Muslim owner and they no longer offer pork. Imagine Thai food without pork? Used to go here for YEARS and the quality and taste is gone. Absolute shame.
New owners, same great taste!
Very kindly service, very clean restaurant I love it ❤️
