Very bad juice for the expensive price! Very bad service too, after she sold us the smoothies she said we have no straws!!
Too slow. One person ahead of me in line but it took 15 minutes to get an average acai bowl. Way too slow.
This had been my husband and my favorite place in San Diego to get a smoothie with reasonable prices and the delicious coco crunch smoothie. It was our special treat once a week. Unfortunately, a couple months ago they jacked their prices up to $15 per smoothie (a 40% increase). Absolutely not worth it to pay $30 plus tip for two smoothies. We have taken our business elsewhere. Unfortunately for Parakeet Juicery, they have lost two loyal customers with their huge price increase.
I ordered a 16 oz juice for $11 and it was soo tart. I didn't even finish it. I mean its not rocket science to make juice but if you are charging soo much money, you better make sure its great.
We used to come here weekly, but overnight they increased the price of their smoothies 40%. Two smoothies for $30 before tax or tip is simply a bad deal for anyone.
My experience with this smoothie joint was not very good. I'm not sure if you can blame the employees as it doesn't appear they received any training in customer service or how to make their drinks. First, for the cost of their smoothies you would expect at least a hint of customer service, like welcome in or thank you. $44.00 for 3 smoothies is what I paid, which is to be expected in Del Mar, but the price tag came with an attitude, average tasting smoothies and no service recovery. My drink, the Gaia didn't appear to be blended at all to be called a smoothie. It had several large chunks of ice in it and when I asked for it to be blended again, there was no, "sorry about that" or "I'll get that to you right away". I waited 10 more minutes on top of the 15 minutes it took to make the original smoothie. I guess they were unhappy with the 15% tip I gave them, which seems more and more as an entitlement these days then based on quality of goods and services. I really enjoy giving good reviews, but this place is overpriced, really bad customer service and their smoothie menu is pedestrian.
I went there two years ago and the girl working there (I think her name was Veronica?) was the nicest worker ever! She was so friendly and patient when I was wondering about the menu, she explained each superfood in detail and wrote a cute note on my drink! Go there! Hopefully she still works there!!!
The vanilla sunset is sooooo delicious. Take out is seamless. The staff is friendly and professional
