Disastrous Dining Experience at Pappadeaux's on Windy Hill Road, Georgia I recently dined at Pappadeaux's on Windy Hill Road in Georgia with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday, and I must express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service we received on March 20th. Despite our excitement and love for Pappadeaux's, the experience fell far below expectations, especially considering the hefty price tag attached to each meal. Upon arrival, despite arriving well before 8 o'clock, we were informed of an hour-long wait. While we patiently waited, it was disheartening to realize that the level of service did not match the hospitality expected, especially with the restaurant closing at 9 o'clock. Throughout the evening, it was evident that the staff's priority was to rush patrons out rather than provide a memorable dining experience. Our server's lackluster attitude was apparent from the start. There was no proper greeting, and it felt as though he had an agenda to quickly serve us and move on to the next table. He failed to offer any menu suggestions, and when taking our order, he seemed disinterested and rushed. Additionally, important details regarding condiments or specific requests were completely overlooked, further highlighting the lack of attention to detail. After an uncomfortable wait of almost 30 to 45 minutes, our food arrived lukewarm, which is unacceptable, especially for seafood. When I notified the server, instead of promptly addressing the issue, he took the meal away and left me waiting an additional 20 minutes. Upon its return, the portions were smaller, and the food was still not hot. The manager, whom we were told would address the situation, never showed up, leaving us feeling ignored and frustrated. To add insult to injury, when we requested another order of oysters, we were informed that they were out, which seemed unlikely given the early closing time. It appeared that the staff's priority was to expedite the closing process rather than accommodate patrons. Overall, the service we received was far from satisfactory, especially considering the hefty bill of nearly $400. This experience not only tarnished our celebration but also left us feeling disrespected as paying customers. Despite our willingness to generously tip for excellent service, the staff failed to deliver, and as a result, we will never return to Pappadeaux's on Windy Hill Road. It's a shame that what should have been a joyous occasion turned into a disappointing ordeal. If you have a 9pm close time you should stop talking patrons at 8pm. Especially if you’re allegedly understaff.
Amya was the best waitress ever ! She took great care of us ! The food was great !
Food is always very, very good. But seriously? A Kenwood Cabernet for $21 a glass? Absurd.
Pappadeaux Windy Hills really needs to get it together. I gave them three stars for the food. I usually get take out. They hardly answer the phone for one. It takes an awful long time to get someone on the phone. Today is March 19, 2024 I ordered my food at 7:15 pm my pick up time was 7:39pm. I arrived and checked in at 7:50 pm. A server came out went to one car and came to me asking if I were someone else, i said no. It was the car next to me. She left then came out again to another vehicle. At 8:00 a vehicle pulled up and within five minutes they were receiving their order. She left again came back at 8:04 pm to get my payment. My thing is this when she asked me my name and it wasn't me, why not ask what my name is? She came out three times and served someone who was in their spot less than five minutes. I wasn't expecting any change, however id would have liked a receipt. I don’t know what it is but I have to ASK for a receipt each time I come that shows that I paid for my food and guess what, she didn't give me a receipt at all today. Pappadeaux in any case when money is exchanged a receipt a PAID receipt should always follow, please get it together. Good food and bad customer service is not a good equation. You really need at the least two or three people working your to go service. One person taking the calls and two servers taking out the meals. To have one person is modern day slavery.
We had minor hiccups due to food not being received in a timely manner. However, Shela definitely made up for it with a generous spirit and an accomadating smile. Thanks to her, my birthday luncheon was indeed a success! Thank you to the staff and servers who work here and took care of my party. Customer service isn't the easiest career choice, but I oblige all that you do, and you are very much appreciated! 10/10 Keep up the good work !
