Papas and Eggs (Mountain View)

Really POOR SERVICE and they charge a mandatory service charge of 20%. No water was served even though we asked for it and took them 10 mins to give the menu. Worst customer service so far. Try bill's Cafe instead.

The food came out fast but the toast was already cold. No one came by the second time to ask if we needed a water refill or anything else.

Was pretty average. Literally nothing special. The omelette was ok, hash browns- ok, fruit bowl… ok., service was….(you guessed it) ok.

Ideally, I'd give this place a 2.5/5. Papas and Eggs in Mountain View offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a relaxed and chill vibe with plenty of sunlight blessing the indoor dining space. The place wasn't busy when I went there in the morning. Their portions are generous, but the dish I got felt imbalanced and lacked appeal. Please note that I got a to-go order. I tried their eggs benedict with salmon. The poached eggs were cooked well, with runny yolks, which is a must for any benedict. The salmon, on the other hand, smelled a bit fishy and wasn't particularly flavorful. The hollandaise sauce was a bit on the thin side and could have used a touch more tang. The potatoes that came on the side were seasoned well but not cooked completely. I wish they had given a side of fruits or something else instead of such a big portion of potatoes. They could have perhaps packaged the food differently such that the hollandaise sauce was kept separate from the English muffin. By the time I got back home, the muffin was already soggy.

Crab Benedict seemed like reheated frozen food. Mandatory 20% gratuity. Charged $1 for ice.

Unfortunately they were understaffed when we came in. Staff estimated 15m wait, it was over 30m if not more. Staff was friendly. Food arrived at an ok time. The bill has a forced 20% service fee. Over priced We would not come back. update: we did not get to touch the tablet to update the service fee. the staff had the payment machine the whole time. We asked whether we can change that and the staff said it's set by the owner. We would have left if the staff knew how long the actual wait was The restaurant was not full so the staff ratio is not set per tables available Many people were waiting to get seated, get the menu, get served, ... for over 30 minutes seated and not seated. Another family was noting how they waited more than 30+ minutes
