I don’t want to come off as rude at all that is not my intention but I must be honest. I am basing this solely on my personal experience at Otsuka. The atmosphere is inviting but the food, even for the price ($13-$17 a bowl) to me is not worth it. I had ordered takoyaki($9- fried octopus balls) I had sent it back the first time because I felt they were undercooked and doughy. I received them for a second time, and nothing had changed And they had a strong fishy flavor, unfortunately.(This dish was taken of my bill) I also ordered Tonkotsu shoyu ramen, I did enjoy the texture of the noodle, and the toppings that came with the Ramen, but the broth Itself was over oily, the tonkotsu(sliced pork) had a strange bite and after taste as well as the shoyu egg(soy sauce egg) topping, it was okay.(I’ve had better). I will say overall, the food did come out fast and the waiter, she was attentive and understanding. I did feel the cook was unhappy with my opinion about the dish, but understandably so. Overall, I don’t think I would recommend this place or return, unfortunately. ❤️ PS: I did not complain about the Ramen to the waiter or the cook but I did leave the broth, the pork and the egg in the bowl. I’m not a fan of wasting food, but I did try to eat as much as I would allow myself to.
If you like Ramen that tastes A LOT like pork, you will like their broth. I could not eat it because it all tasted incredibly strong. The pork bun looked appetizing but the pork flavor from the slice of chashu took over the entire thing. The service was terrible. The hostess was our waitress as well and she rolled her eyes, looked incredibly upset to be working there and was terrible at checking up on us. I did not feel comfortable asking for another appetizer or ask for a fork for my mom. The restaurant itself is beautiful though and the yuzu salmon is delicious!
