This business is horrible. I told the bartender to cancel my order bc it was taking long and he still charged my card!!! I messaged this unprofessional business and they ignored my message.

The only thing that made this place better was the manager Brandon and the fact that they play good music. Brandon was nice, apologetic, and friendly. Other than that everything else was trash. We came on a slow day and it was only two other tables with ppl yet it still took forever to get any kind of food for my table. We had to check on food twice. Once person never got the second half of her oysters and we ordered two orders of beignets however, only one came and that was like after an hour and a half and after speaking to the manager twice. I support creole food and black owned businesses but they need to get it together. It was completely unacceptable what happened that night. Oh pictured is the beignet order we received. I was shocked. They should have just said they were out smh. I didn’t get pictures of the food but it was not worth it. Food ordered was oysters and the shrimp po boy. The fries came out cold.

I tried on two different days to dine at this establishment without success. Online it says that they close at 10pm on Wednesdays, so I took an Uber and arrived just after 9pm to a closed restaurant, workers were still inside. We tried again on Sunday, arriving by Uber around 2pm. Again, the restaurant was closed, but this time no one was inside. As we were walking away others were arriving and we informed them that they were closed, but they still tried the doors. We ended up walking to Old Lady Gang two blocks up the road.

Let me preface this by saying that as entrepreneurs ourselves, we prefer not to leave unfavorable reviews but this is the truth of our experience. Formerly Neyow’s of Atlanta, I was disappointed that I was mislead by this restaurant. My husband is from New Orleans so we tried to support/patronize this local restaurant as often as we could. After finding out about this place, he called the food authentic and we especially enjoyed the Bow Wow punch, the chargrilled/broiled oysters, the grilled redfish, etc. After several visits however, we were disappointed to find that the service started to decline and the name changed. Once while seated on the rooftop when his daughters were in town, we sat in the hot sun for about 3 hours before our order was brought to the table. Recently, after a car accident that my husband was lucky to walk away from, we made a late decision to plan a dinner to celebrate his life on his 50th birthday. As he wanted a taste of home, it was his choice that I reach out to the restaurant to arrange a celebration. I asked him if he was sure given the past few unfavorable experiences we had, but as he is especially gracious and forgiving, he wanted to go there. I called the restaurant numerous times to get the information and make arrangements. The voicemail box is always full so you have to call several times before you get someone on the phone. Every time I called, I was given different information. I probably spoke with different people on 4 different occasions. First I was told they could put us at a long table. Then I was told that we had to pay a $250 “deposit” for the private room that I was told on the 3rd call that we had to secure due to our large party size but would go towards our balance. I was also advised that among the dishes provided in the buffet would be seafood gumbo and seafood jambalaya. As we are health conscious, we requested grilled chicken instead of fried chicken, and grilled red fish instead of fried fish. I was told that there would be an extra charge for the redfish so we got grilled catfish instead. On the day of the event, the room was BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED. I brought helium balloons, a German Chocolate cake, and gold letters for the table spelling my husband’s name, however: - The $250 “deposit“ that I previously paid was never credited to the balance. - The grilled chicken was not cooked all the way through. There was a food service professional and 3 grown women who have been cooking dinner all our lives at the dinner. One of us pulled back the skin on a thigh, and it looked pink, slimy and undercooked. When we made the server aware, the tray was taken away with apologies. When our server came back - half the amount of the chicken was removed, and we were advised that the chef said the chicken was cooked. There was no reduction in price due to the removed chicken and undercooked chicken. - I was advised that we would be served seafood gumbo and seafood jambalaya but none of us could find a single piece of seafood in either of them. - The red beans tasted like Blue Runner straight out the can canned and not well seasoned. The jambalaya was mushy, and the baked macaroni and cheese was more like excess cheese and macaroni. - The music in the room cut off every time the server left the room because the playlist was connected to her cellphone. She was a great server though and left her phone in the room when made aware. - Days later when I called the restaurant to ask why I was overcharged by $250 (I was told previously that it was a “deposit” that would be credited to the final balance), I was then advised that it was a “room fee” and they would have my server call me back. I just got off the phone with my server, and she advised that it was a room fee. I have 2 college degrees, if something is made clear to me, I understand it. It simply wasn’t made clear to be anything but a deposit. Disappointing. Going forward, we will wait until we go to New Orleans, Louisiana to enjoy the consistently high quality food and customer service at Neyow’s in New Orleans.
