Some of my coworkers and I wanted to try mochi donuts after work and drove to UTC only to find that it was closed and that another Mochinut location near Mira Mesa had also just closed. We were so determined to try these donuts that we drove down to the Kearny Mesa area and found this Mochinut location. The only downside of this experience was how long service took. We had to wait an exceptionally LONG time for donuts that were already made and ready in the showcase. Please hire more staff for the busier rush hours. Makes me not want to come back, especially because I had to drive out over 20 mins. Overall decent, chewy donuts however, the glazing of the donuts was really messy.
Awesome mochi donuts! Wish there was matcha, chocolate, pistachio, and red bean flavours
Donuts are very doughy but good. Parking can be a problem though.
Employees were really nice loved the donuts super good loved it
We arrived about 25 minutes to close, and they still had donuts left. Other places with mochi donuts tend to run out earlier in the day. The girl that helped us was very friendly and efficient. They change up their flavors often. The lychee one was surprisingly our favorite out of the flavors they had. The donuts were flavorful, and they were fresh enough being right before they closed. They have other food and beverage options too, but we can’t comment on those since we only got the donuts. Hard to find space to park in their lot since it’s in a busy plaza.
Was hoping to find Halloween themed mochinuts but they just had normal flavors. The dough texture is really good but the strawberry tasted a bit artificial Parking: Parking lot is small and packed
Extremely expensive for these little high fat rather plain pastries, especially with instructions to eat within 3 hours, which only means they're going to get yucky if you wait for over 3 hours. They do look pretty though.
3 or 4 Atmosphere and employees were perfectly fine. This rating is in regard to the donuts. I got the Churro flavor. Is it decent for a donut? Yes. Is it worth $3.75? No. I would pay $1.75 to $2.30 max for one of these, but maybe you'll like these so much that it'll feel worth it to you. There's a little discount for buying in bulk, maybe that would make it slightly more worth it if you and some friends want to try it for the first time. Overall, I'm not too disappointed since I was already out here anyways waiting for my food from Tasty Noodle, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way for them My personal opinion of course, maybe you'll feel differently
