We were seated late due to previous party still at table, which was fine, but once we sat down we were being rushed to make decisions. Told must order all at once, when we didn’t know what we yet wanted post initial dish, appetizer order. Server hovered over us continuously to the point of uncomfortable. I felt embarrassed when had to go into detail about my dietary restrictions at her insistence. We had all said at beginning of interaction we had some dietary issues we had to work around, so would all just order our own dishes, not sharing, and some had not been before so didn’t know menu, portion size, etc. In other words, give us a minute. I was taking too long, for server’s liking, to select more than one dish. Explained again had some foods I needed to avoid. I tried to joke & say it’s a long list, and I’ll find something, but server insisted I discuss. Asked me, didn’t I know it was a fish, seafood restaurant. I said, no, as I had no idea of restaurant til I got there. (Was invited & usually, quietly, try to work within a menu, ask questions where needed, so as not to be rude - I didn’t get the chance due to all the insistence & abruptness). I believe it was her attempt to help, but that style not necessary. Server kept telling me what I should order and must get order in. I appreciate info on ingredients/dishes, but please let me choose. I ordered nothing else just to end the interaction, saying maybe later if I’m not full. Vegetable dish I ordered was good and others shared their cooked fish, which was also nice. We all felt it was a nice restaurant but the attitude of importance and pressure to order was a bit much.

The restaurant was lovely, staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The Tuna Nduja was excellent, as was the satsuma semifreddo. They also had a large selection of Amari, which was exciting to see some lesser known offerings.

We visited Moëca for my wife's birthday, and we had a really good time. The food was very good, and I say this as someone who doesn't eat much seafood - but this was my wife's birthday, and she loves it! I think I tried every vegetarian dish on the menu, and all were quite tasty! Favorite may have been the chickpea pancake, but the beets, potatoes, bread course, and grain salad were all delicious. Loved the cocktails as well. We live around the corner and will definitely recommend, and return.

I dined her on my milestone birthday with my 3 year old and my husband. I was a bit surprised by their choice of glass for water for my toddler. She is used to drinking from a glass (in her school they use that) but not thin rim glass. Anyhow they did not offer a choice.. as she took a sip from it, the glass broke inside her mouth. It left us in shock. A big piece had broken and we were not sure if she swallowed it (it had fallen in the water in glass) I scanned her mouth using my phone’s flashlight; found atleast a small shard inside, and on her clothes, I rinsed her mouth rigorously in washroom. The staff was in shock and apologetic but could have taken more action. I was nervous about tiny pieces on table (they offered if we wanted to move, but did not say we have another table ready for you). They would have been ok if we just left. My toddler wanted to eat there so we ate what we had ordered. I later looked at our pictures and I noticed a line (crack) on the glass in several pictures. My toddler said she did not bite on it and it just broke. They threw the glass right away (we should have taken picture after as well). While I would not write a negative review, I am hoping there is more action and more accountability and better safety measures for everyone of all ages who eats there. And also a bit more action by staff would be appreciated. “Clean the table a bit if glass broke, change the dishes or get another table ready” one accident is enough to change someone’s life. So, saying this is the first is not enough.. Kid-friendliness: May not be safe enough for kids. Not asking for crayons- just appropriate cups, silverware and a little more kid friendly menu.

Went for Valentines dinner. They had a great price fix menu. The cocktails are fantastic. The food was amazing but for the price the entree fish -Branzino to share was small for two people. The dessert was OK. It was interesting but not my favorite course. But that's personal preference Parking: Beware. There is no parking there and besides Mass Ave, the only option is to risk permit only parking.

Dinner at Moeca was my attempt to squeeze both pasta AND seafood into my quick thirty-six hour trip to Boston and Cambridge - and it was the right call. Both are executed to perfection. I'm still dreaming about the lobster spaghetti with a pepper (gochujang?) sauce. All other spaghetti dishes now pale in comparison.
