We had an amazing experience at the Milonga Room. The space is cozy with velvet chairs and enough space between tables that you don’t hear the next table’s conversation. The cocktails are brilliantly crafted with delicious amaros, hand smoked cinnamon sticks and perfectly shaken ingredients. The bartending staff were fun and knowledgeable showing the excellence in their craft. We had a an amazing tailored experience with Andrew and are grateful for interesting small details he shared about his mixology philosophy.
Andrew is the best bartender in town. Plus his playlists are extra funky.
Great spot to check out. It is a reservation type place, but that is only because it is pretty small, but this makes it cozy. You don’t have to yell to have a conversation like other bars. Overall great vibe and ambience. Tried a couple of drinks, and they were some of the best cocktails I’ve had. I love that they smoke their glasses (on certain cocktails). They best way to describe the drinks is that you get not only the taste, but the smell as you enjoy it. Service was very attentive. Will absolutely be back next time we are in Austin.
The Milonga Room, under Buenos Aires Cafe, has a cozy speakeasy vibe. Great drinks, intimate ambiance. Entrance around the back corner. A hidden gem and must-visit for a unique, memorable Austin experience!
Tiny place, reservations required! They are strict on reservation timing so make sure you know what you booked (1 or 2 hours) going into it. They are also good at keeping you informed while there. Cozy spot with vintage vibes, but leaning towards shabby recently. Very unique menu, specializing in amaro/digestifs with heavy Argentinian influence. The waitress was knowledgeable and happy to answer questions, but the drinks seemed to be hit or miss. I was very happy with mine, but my husband was less than thrilled with either of his.
We got lucky to get in with no reservations. Everything was great! Really enjoyed the Alfonse sour!
Drinks are great, not many food options and space is really small!! It's like sitting someone's living room!
Worst idea I've ever had: going to Milonga Room for the first time on a first date! Never Again
