I’m writing a review because I miss this place. I went to college in Tucson and the line was so worth the wait at Mi Nidito. Eat anything here, I promise you that you will enjoy this experience.
Great food and great service. Long wait.
Before covid they were the best Mexican in tucson. Not any more. Food is mediocre at best. Their previously great chimis are now dry and bland despite ordering an extra side of enchilada sauce in an attempt to liven it up. I used to love the green chile cheese crisp (tostada) but it is now a soggy mess with what tasted like canned chile. A 45 minute wait to get in, then another hour to get our food. People who arrived after us were served before us because of our slow and inattentive waitress and we couldn't understand a thing she said as she was the only staff member wearing a mask. Another party member who ordered the relleno said it was horrible and took only 2 bites. No attempts to refill our chips and salsa while we waited an hour for our food. Time to find a new favorite for Mexican food in tucson as mi nidito will survive on reputation alone, rather than food quality. So very sad but I'll never return.
Place is well known so be prepared for a nice wait when you arrive. It was about 45 minutes for just me so just to give you an example. They are extremely busy so go with patience as it took the waiter about 10 min to greet me. The food was decent so no complaints there and then another 15 min waiting for a box to go and check. Overall not bad but go with some time on your side and enjoy a Tucson staple
Come early. It was full at 4:45pm on a Thur. When we left there were many waiting for a table.
