Had the chance to do dinner at Mel's. Was by myself so grabbed a seat at the bar. For a Friday night the restaurant was not crowded so seating was easy. The staff was attentive and the space had a good energy. Ordered the Soppressata Piccante pizza and can say that it was rather forgettable. It wasn't bad. It wasn't good. It just was. To add more context, outside of the temp being a bit on the cold side, any semblance of flavor had to come from the available condiments. Again I want to stress, the staff and ambiance of Mel's is solid. But if you are looking for a great pizza and happen to find yourself on 10th Ave you will be better served at Artichoke Pizza for the money.
Couldn’t recommend another pizza point more in nyc :) incredible chefs and staff
Very hip style. The severs are very friendly. I ordered to go for the special pizza. The pizza is delicious with thin crust.
Perfect in every way — the best pizza we’ve had, wonderful service, and beautiful design.
The pepperoni pizza was overly salty and burnt to a crisp, leaving a strong bitter taste. Disappointing experience overall.
Love this place. The appetizers, like the shrimp or the asparagus, are outstanding. Not to mention the margarita pizza and gelato sundaes for dessert. We keep meaning to order wine but never get past the bartender’s fabulous martinis.
