Matsumotto Sushi & Grill

This is a quiet and cute little place. Their sushi was phenomenal! If you love eggplant, you MUST try their eggplant sushi! The Yellowtail was also delicious! A little overpriced, but very very good!

Gomennasai. They just need to take the grill and Japanese off their name. The Teriyaki steak wasn't seasoned or marinated. Steak was full of tendons and had no fat. No grill marks and was grey like it had been cooked in water. When I tried to get wait staff to order something else, they just kept walking by. Decor is beautiful. Sushi was fine but priced above competitor's lunch specials.

What a gem! The drinks, sushi, service! All of it was top notch. Better than any of the sushi we have had in Boulder. This place definitely deserves its 5 ⭐️ rating! We will be back!

For the price, the value just wasn't there. Our hostess did not look at us once while seating us and we were seated at the bar, though there were multiple tables open that never filled up while we were there. The gentleman behind the sushi bar was excellent, and our actual waitress was pretty good, though she was scarce, even as it thinned out later on. The spicy edamame was fantastic, and the Kobe beef roll, was decent, the sushi, however, was pretty mediocre. Again, just not worth the price overall .

My dad wants to take me to eat with him since nobody will go. However I have severe allergies to Nuts and Fish. I legit called just to ask if I could order like miso soup or like teriyaki chicken or something and whoever picked up the phone was RUDDDEEEEE. I asked her if any of the dishes were accommodating and explained that my dad wants to eat sushi and drag me along so he isn’t alone. She legit was like “well this is a sushi restaurant sooooo I mean you could order something from the kitchen” so I just asked like “okay can the kitchen like prepare it in a way that is safe for me to eat???” And she legit just like ignored me and was like “what? I mean the sushi bar and kitchen are completely separate” LIKE GGRRRR That’s not what I asked a simple yes or no could’ve sufficed. I know it’s a long shot and I know it puts me in a predicament cause like I brought this upon myself but I’m just not gonna go cause I don’t feel like I’d be accommodated here… I bet the food is great tho. Went here for the first time for my birthday yesterday and it did not disappoint. The sushi rolls were so good. Glad we tried the Spiderman roll and Lion King roll. Yum! Everything was great though and our server was wonderful. Thanks! Will be back!

My new fav restaurant! The service is always amazing, the sushi is fresh and well prepared visually. The atmosphere is perfect not too loud but it’s always busy. The drinks are also super good and the pricing is more than fair. I love this restaurant lol and it’s walking distance from me which is even better
