QUITE LITERALLY one of the best hidden gems in LA. The chicken skewers are jumbo and the sides are FIRE. The mac and cheese is just as good as the best I've ever had. The brussel sprouts are solid. One of the BEST values out there. And hidden in a super market. Whoda thunk? Vegetarian options: Brussel sprouts. Vegetable medley.
This place used to be the best and quickest way to pick up some BBQ'd tri-tip in the torrance-hermosa-redondo area of the south bay. Since they revamped, their old recipe for seasoning the meat has been forgotten. It just doesn't taste as good. The BBQ sauce is probably suspect as it's given me digestive problems on the last three visits, and I'm starting to question their cleanliness as well as it seems the grill they used to BBQ the tri-tip on is now falling apart and the most they can do is cook chicken on sticks over the flame. I would no longer recommend this place, unfortunately, which means the only real place for BBQ in the area is Willinghams.
Excellent shish kabob, ribs, saffron rice, Middle Eastern style. The only complaint is their delicious chicken veggie soup has canned mushrooms added, and A LOT. Every other vegetable looks fresh but the mushrooms gag me and I'm spooning them out. Can't you find another veggie to add besides canned mushrooms? Pretty gross and totally ruins the soup. I will be willing to change this review if you can drop the fungi.
I love this place for a nice koobideh kabab plate. Reasonable price for a lot of food with a lot choices for sides . I haven't gotten any barbecue but my co-workers say it's pretty good too. Since it's inside the Jon's market, you can pick up drinks on the cheap as well.
