The beef with okra in shrimp paste Is the go-to move. Never disappoints. Seasoned well, flavorful. The fried shrimp is basic, but it’s extremely good. Get the sauce on the side, or even better- tell them to skip it. It’s not needed. The spinach is excellent. And it’ll make your mom happy that you’re eating vegetables. The noodles are cooked very well, excellent flavor. That said, not worth it. You hardly get any meat. Pause. The end.
Authentic and affordable. The menu has an interesting array of options. We had an enjoyable dinner and the portions were generous enough to have a lot to take home.
The food is great. I’ve eaten here ten times. However tonight the manager was completely unreasonable. My friend and I ordered for takeout but then decided to just eat there. The manager came up to use and said that we couldn’t eat our takeout there because the prices are different for dine in. I’ve never heard of this before. Barely anyone was in the restaurant so it’s not like we were taking up a table either. In addition they didn’t give us forks and napkins so I had to walk all the way back from car parked 5 blocks away. When I questioned about the forks she said they only give forks in the afternoon not at dinner time. To recap, wouldn’t eat takeout food there and they don’t give forks for dinner unless you ask
My favourite lunch spot on UWS. As a long term Singapore resident this is the closest and most authentic Straits Chinese restaurant on UWS. Excellent service, Ambiance and affordable.
Malaysia Grill has been my go-to for over ten years, and it never disappoints! The Thai-style salad is refreshing, assorted satay (beef and chciken) is savory, and the chicken or shrimp curry dish with coconut rice is a must-try (no eggplant for me), and lets not forget the delicious steamed shrimp dumplings. While the mango chicken/shrimp dish tends to be on the sweet side, the overall menu is a delight. The service is consistently friendly and attentive, making Malaysia Grill a longstanding favorite for both great food and welcoming hospitality.
