Really bad service. They need to hire more people.
As a person who is obsessed with Almond Croissants and authentic French food, I give Le Marais an A+. I was visiting SF from LA hoping to find someplace with real French people serving real French pastries. They present their food with quality and care … no cheap ingredients and super buttery taste . I ordered the avocado toast on a croissant that came with perfectly cooked eggs and a salad with a super light and flavorful dressing . I seriously doubt that this experience could be replaced with AI. Lol.
Don't order online. Online menu is not up to date, so placing an order for shakshuka as advertised online was an option, but not actually. I received a voice mail from them while I was driving to the location after paying. The voice mail informed me that it was not available and requested that I order a different item. They couldn't cancel the online order and refund me, so that was odd.. I decided to just make my decision when I got there. They have creperie in their name being advertised on signs at the location. Even on the menu, the crepes had a special graphicly designed section, making it eye-catching. I ordered the salmon crepe. I decided to give it a try once I got back to where I parked. Oof dog.. It was very salty and underwhelming.. the crepe itself seemed off, texture wise. I don't recommend it. Maybe get a Benedict instead if you really want the salmon? I also ordered a mocha. It didn't have any size options, which is fine, but it also didn't have any sweetness level or varied chocolate choices. If you enjoy a really very sweet mocha, this one is for you. I'm not going back for crepes or coffee, but maybe croissants..
Nice small shop with coffee and baked goods. I usually get the kouign amann batons but a lot of the stuff is good. A little pricey but not bad for sf.
Croissants and Crêpes are some of the best in SF!
The most beautiful & bright French bakery cafe in the Castro ☕️ I’ve been coming here for years for the occasional croissant (they have award winning ones) and finally sat down for a proper breakfast today. Delicious food with very large portions and friendly service. Highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood.
Our French au pair says these are the best/most authentic croissants in the city!
