The pizza is satisfactory, but on two occasions, I noticed attempts to overcharge me by $10. As a precaution, I recommend reviewing your bill thoroughly upon receipt. This pattern suggests a deliberate attempt to solicit extra payment, rather than a mere coincidence.
Great local pizza joint, they've been at the same location for more than 30 years, You know they have to be doing it right if they've been in business that long. I just picked up a large pepperoni and sausage pizza, (you can also get pizza by the slice) and while waiting for my pizza to cook, (Always cooked to order, Always fleshly made) I was talking to the owner and he says they get their sausage All the way from Chicago. Now if you have never had a Chicago sausage pizza, then my friend you're just gunna have to make a pizza pilgrimage to Chi-town and treat yourself to one of the best pizza flavors you'll ever have, trust me. Or just drive down to the Newport Beach peninsula and belly-up to the order counter of Laventina's Big Cheese pizza and get yourself a little "slice of heaven" Now I realize that sometimes in summer the traffic on the peninsula can be difficult but here is a tip to help you out. When you drive onto the peninsula (don't worry you won't go near the pier parking lot) stay in the left lanes, when you get to 28th street turn left, (short block) at the corner turn left again stay in left lane, travel 1/2 block, pull over on left side in open parking space. Enjoy the pizza, oh yeah before I forget they have crazy Good sandwiches too. Enjoy, tell the owner Smokey Fred sent you. Talk you you all again soon, I'm always looking for great eats at great little places.
