I think we have found our new ramen spot. We had lunch at this establishment and it did not disappoint. To begin with, the menu can be found on the wall. The menu isn’t large, which I like because it makes it easier to choose from the items. Since it was our first time there, they recommended we tried one of their ramen dishes first. I’m glad we did because it was delicious. They also told us that they specialized in pork for their ramen. My son ordered the Kurotaka Ramen but substituted the pork with chicken. The chicken is served fried and it was delicious. I ordered the Kurotaka Spicy Ramen, served with pork, and it was also delicious. The pork was tender and flavorful. The broth was one of the best I’ve tried in Fresno. When it comes to ordering and you’re dining in, you can either sit at a table and use the QR code. It will take you to the website and you can place your order there. If QR codes aren’t your thing, they can also personally take your order. We used the QR code and it was super easy to place our order. We look forward to coming back again soon!
Clean, friendly and the broth/meat was phenomenal. The noodles could vary on how they absorb each broth and the cook temp but the experience on the whole is so so delicious.
If you’re seeking an authentic ramen experience in Fresno’s burgeoning food scene, look no further than Kurotaka Ramen! Nestled in the heart of the city, this unassuming gem delivers on all fronts. From the first slurp to the last, Kurotaka’s ramen bowls boast rich, complex flavors that transport your taste buds straight to the ramen food scenes of L.A. and the Bay Area. Whether you’re a ramen aficionado or just being introduced to the dish, you’ll appreciate the complex flavors of the broth, tender meat and not half but an ENTIRE soft boiled egg . And don’t let the unpretentious atmosphere fool you—here, the focus is solely on serving up soul-satisfying bowls of ramen (their mission statement is on their window.) A nice touch they live up to. In a city where the dining scene is rapidly expanding with choices (both good and bad), it’s crucial to rally behind those restaurants that truly elevate Fresno’s food scene and steering clear of those cashing in on the underserved hungry masses. Kurotaka stands out as a must-visit destination for any food lover craving a taste of genuine Japanese cuisine. At the very least their ramen is worth discussing love it or hate it. But I personally ❤️ it. Parking: Good ol parking in Fresno!
Best ramen I’ve had in Fresno bar none. If you want spicy then get extra spicy just as I did ️. Service is awesome. All very polite and you can order with QR if you don’t want to speak to anyone. Just come in and eat and leave as you wish. Just everything about this place was authentic with no need to add all your extra toppings like other places. Will be back for more ‼️Also the jazz music makes this place so relaxing!
Kurotaka is hands down one of the best ramen shops in California. I've been going here consistently for about a year now and the food is always delicious! I used to travel to Little Tokyo in Los Angeles to eat good authentic Japanese Ramen, now I don't have to travel anymore because Kurotaka is actually better! You won't be disappointed! Definitely in my top 3 restaurants for Fresno!
Such a nice atmosphere with great service and even better food. Owner truly takes pride and cooks his food with love. Highly recommend!
Masa-san's Ramen used to be at this location and was the best Ramen in Fresno County, hands down. Kurotaka Ramen has taken over that title! Kurotaka does not have a huge variety menu. But they don't need to. They have amazing ramen. The best broth I've ever had since Masa-san. And a rare balance for spicy. I can actually taste the food when I order it extra spicy, it's not just heat it's flavor. Their recipes are art.
The staff are very nice and helpful, and the food is delicious
This is the one you want to go to lady’s and gentlemen. The KUROTAKA ramens soy sauce base was amazing
