Konnichiwa Sushi & Bar

It bums me out to have to write this, because I do enjoy the sushi here. It isn't my favorite spot but it is pretty good. However, as has been noted by other reviews, they have some messed up practices when it comes to online ordering. On Feb. 12th I was charged $62.93 for a pick-up order I placed at the restaurant. I requested an itemized receipt and noted that the online menu prices were less than what I was charged. Based on the online menu my total should have been $48.28. I informed the server and he said that the menu price had changed but the online menu had not yet been updated. He refused to refund me the difference of $14.65. I left a message for the manager who called me on Feb. 13th and let me know that they are no longer able to access the online menu to adjust it. However, he was still unwilling to refund me the difference between the online menu and the price that I was charged. I informed him that such a practice is illegal and that I would be contacting the attorney general.

I placed an order for pick up and when I went to pay for it, the price was way more than what the menu says on their website. I ordered two small miso soups which online says they’re $3.50 each and a crunchy roll which was listed for $11.50. I ended up paying $5.00 per soup and $17.00 for the crunchy roll. When I told the girl about it she just asked if I wanted to cancel the order. This is just unethical and bad customer service/experience. I can understand a few MINOR changes here and there but from $18 to $30 is ridiculous. They should at least honor the price that’s listed on the website. Not to mention, the miso soup tastes like water. I really hope no one else faces unexpected price hikes like this. Definitely not going back.

Hidden gem. Service a little off. Should have gotten our seaweed salad first and no one came back later to see if everything was okay. We'll go back. Also I left my jacket and they kept it for me to get the next day.

Best place for Sushi

The food is top tier quality - best bento box I've ever had in SD and I used to get them in multiple downtown SD places when I worked in downtown. The service is pretty good but a bit spacey - they forget to bring drinks and knapkins. Really funny cool staff. Prices seem pretty descent. I like the food here and the drinks and I feel I am getting my moneys worth here - which is realy something these days. I don't feel sad spending the money on this place - I feel happy I feel it was a value added place on many levels. My wife and I will be coming back to bother the staff. Its' that good :) Vegetarian options: My wife asked for Bento Box Vegatarian and they did it and she loved it. The server said in 2 years hes never had a all Bento Box vegie style but they did it and she loved it! Says alot about the care this place has for customers.

A great laid back place . Food was very, very good.

We were sat right away, and service was quick. Everyone was very polite.

Happy to have found this place in Charlotte. If you are used to LA or NYC’s sushi quality this place wont disappoint!
