pizza was great. Highly recommend this place
Waiting for their long awaited Studio City opening ..
We got garlic bread, meatballs, the spicy fusilli, and pizza. Everything was good, but the spicy fusilli was my favorite!
I thought the Spaghetti Bolognese was very good. The best I've had in a long time. The tiramisu was also very good. I do take issue with the 18% Service charge and being expected to tip on top of that. Service was very slow, probably understaffed, as I waited what seemed like a very long time for my main dish. It was a full house on a Saturday night when I went. The restaurant has a hip vibe - playing hip hop in the main room. Overall, I had a good experience because I enjoyed the food but I ended up paying about $75 for spaghetti bolognese, a tiramisu, espresso and bottle of still water after the service charge and additional tip was included.
On the positive side, the food at Jon & Vinny's is consistently good! Their pizza is particularly great, and all of their pastas and sides I've tried have been good as well. But I do have one minor complaint and one major. The minor complaint is that the food coursing is just not something they really bother with... so in a party of four, we all got our entrees at different times, spaced a few minutes apart, which is pretty awkward to be honest. I guess at least they warn you about this. Not sure why they can't do what 95% of other restaurants do. But my biggest complaint is about their additional service fee. When your bill arrives, they will automatically add 18%, and stress/underline that this is NOT a tip and that the tip should be added on top of that. Why? So they can pay their serving staff a 'living wage'. Of course I'm happy that they pay their serving staff a living wage, but how about doing that the way every other business on earth does it... by building it into the price of your products? It actually feels pretty dishonest, and allows them to display/advertise lower prices than what they are actually charging. Also, isn't the tip meant to pay the living wage?
Started with the beet Greek salad which was delicious. Had olives and feta in it. Had the margarita pizza, it was thin and good. The spicy pasta was the best. Skip the garlic bread. Wine selection was good too
The atmosphere is very chill and loud but in a good way! Everyone is enjoying amazing food, good music, and a fabulous experience! It was my first time and I’ll definitely be back in to try different dishes. It definitely is homemade authentic Italian… I’m from Chicago and grew up eating legit Italian. I really enjoyed my visit tonight! I give huge props to the kitchen! They GOT DOWN!!! Cooking with such skill and speed to keep up with the crowd. Thank you for an awesome evening!
