Written by Marty n I. East of the Berlin Wall " Seldom will I take the time to write a negative review but tonight's visit to Jax's Bistro and Bar warranted just this. We arrived early to a friendly greeting and a quick seating by the attractive hostess who provided us with 3 menus and stated and I quote, " happy hour menu is served until 6 in the dining room (12 tables ) and 7 in the bar area (aprx 9 tables)" mind you in this small Bistro the bar and restaurant are divided by a 4' wall. Our waitress was pleasant, took our drink order off the happy hour menu and returned shortly thereafter to drop our drinks and take our food order . The bar bite happy hour menu was what we wanted but were quickly informed that this menu was served only on the west side of the wall, which was arms length from our table. In looking at their dinner menu we Noticed the same roast beef sliders on this menu which was $5.00 more then the bar menu so of course we just ordered off that and were informed that we would get 3 sliders versus the bar menu I sliders which was only two Relatively reasonable right So I order the fish tacos Same deal $5.00 more when ordering off the dinner menu again. Two served on the bar Menu and wait 2 served on the dinner menu makes sense right? Not! Then the brussel sprouts which simply were $5.00 more for the privilege of sitting east of the wall. Nothing made any sense . The tacos were so salty I ate one and left the other, the chocolate martini was null of liquor and the house Pinot noir was the worst I ever tasted to the point it may have been a bad bottle Need I say more . We won't return !

Always amazing service, food and atmosphere! Everything from the hamburgers to the salads and the drinks are delicious

Great Happy Hour

great locals restaurant. food isn't just good its exceptional. staff is super friendly. very accommodating. corn fritters best I've had. great happy hour. four of us and we all demolished every bite. not a to go box insight. lol. great value for $ and one of our regular places. indoor and outdoor seating. and a fun bar area with a good bourbon selection.

Love this place , great people great food and cocktails. Fun Atmosphere, plus Sports and bar menu specials . Barmaids and staff are very attentive and all around cool bunch of eggs.

Great place for brunch or a light lunch. Indoor & outdoor seating. The staff is clearly from NY or the like which can come across a bit short, disinterested, or rude. But probably is a feeling of home for the snowbirds or retirement crowd from up north. We are recent transplants from South Carolina and the service would rate a 3 star up there. But we are adjusting to the NY attitude.
