Janik's Cafe

I love their chicken tacos! They sell breakfast and lunch all day. Through the week there open 7am to 3. They only have can pop no fountain. They have Coke products. They have Splenda and iced tea. They do have a bunch of seating inside and outside. Their staff was so nice. Very good food!

Went here for breakfast yesterday. After a random Google search for a new breakfast spot to try, Janik's caught my eye with the Lox & Bagel platter on the menu. I have passed it many times going to other establishments nearby, but I never even noticed it was there. My lady ordered the Biscuits & Gravy with a mimosa. Everything was excellent. Responsive service, pleasant atmosphere, and great food. We both agreed that this place was worth revisiting for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.

AMYYY!!! That’s all I’m gonna say she is the absolute best This was my first time in Chicago visiting from seattle WA a long way from home the food the service the ambience ! This restaurant is what you need and Amy makes it feel more like eating at my moms place she was so accommodating from how she was speaking to her patience hands down Id take another flight here just to come see her .

Service was great! Food was great, but disappointed in a couple things: the fish in the fish tacos were fried which was unexpected, and too fried. And disappointed about the French fries, they're just those frozen crinkle cut ones from the bag. Get the diced potatoes instead. Cute vibe otherwise ! ✨️

I had a business meeting here and the service was amazing! I can’t wait to eat here next time I’m back in the city!

Wonderful, welcoming staff who remember me. The salad was fresh and crispy. The single serving of biscuits and gravy was generous. I only wish it was available all day. Seating is at a comfortable distance for easy conversation. The weekend crowd can make for some waiting time, but service is good even when busy. Nice outdoor dining area on somewhat noisy street.

Fast service and great breakfast!

Great brunch option for well executed diner favorites. This is a great place for people who don't want fancy brunch options, but solid classics. Will definitely return to try the Mexican breakfast options.
