I ate inside the Islands Restaurant at the Westfield Shopping Center in Carlsbad, CA. Thus was on Friday night at 5 p.m. I needed to buy some clothes at another store in the mall so I got hungry and decided to try out s new restaurant. I saw the Islands Restaurant that Friday night. I entered through the front door and I was greeted by Paul who was waiting at the front door. Paul looked like a host and Paul asked me how many people in my group? I said just me. Paul escorted me over to a booth with a table and I sat down then Paul said Omar my server will stop By in a few minutes to take my order. I said okay and I waited for Omar. Then 5 minutes later Omar my server with his really friendly attitude he walked up to my booth and Omar said hello and Omar said Welcome to Islands Restaurant. Then Omar handed me their Menu and Omar said he will give me some time to make my decision. I asked Omar what kind of burger does he recommend? Omar said he recommends me to order their most popular Chicken Sandwich. I ordered their Hula Hula Chicken Sandwich with sweet BBQ Sauce with the Sweet Potato Fries and the Cool Breeze Smoothie with Strawberries, Pineapple Juice and whipped cream topping with a slice of pineapple and one cherry in it for garnish. I told Omar yes these food items sounds delicious I will order them now. Omar was very personable to me and Omar was also very attentive to me . Omar came over to my table 4 times to check up on me in asking me if I needed a refill on my Cool Breeze Smoothie? I needed more napkins? And also Omar asked me if I wanted to order their desserts? I received awesome customer service from Omar. Again I was treated with respect and s lot of appreciation from Omar in me being their new customer at Islands Restaurant. My food came out again quickly. I received the Hula Hula Chicken Sandwich with the Sweet Potatoes Fries within the 20 minutes time frame. This restaurant was very crowded also with all of their customers coming from shopping at the Shoppes . These restaurants that have a lot of customers are the best restaurants to dine inside because that tells me their customers are very happy with their restaurants excellent customer service. A restaurant that has very few customers are a bad sign of poor customer service. Omar brought out my two food items I ordered with s friendly smile and his upbeat attitude toward me. I felt so good to be eating inside the Islands Restaurant that Friday night. This Hula Hula Chicken Sandwich with these Sweet Potatoes Fries was very delicious! The Cool Breeze Drink reminds me of a Pina Colada. It was very refreshing and so good. Omar bright me me bill . I gave Omar $5.00 tip in cash that evening. I paid my bill with cash also that Friday night. I told Omar before I left who rained him? Omar said their manager this woman who told Omar that always treat every single customer with respect, kindness and compassion because their customers are very important people ti their success of their business. I said your manager has a very smart philosophy in the way she trains you and the rest her staff. I highly recommend Islands Restaurant.

Service was excellent. Food is super good.

Ate here and had a burger, which was tasty. Second time had a bug in my salad. The person on duty wasn't very concerned about. The manager in the didn't apologize. He says, how did that happen? I reported it to the health department. Their response was that the restaurant looked cleaned so it could've happen to anyone. In my adult life I can say I've been out to eat hundreds of not thousands of times, all types of establishments. I have had over cooked, under cooked, good, nor so good food. BUT NEVER A BUG. This tells me that they are not washing the produce that comes into the restaurant.
