THIS IS MY FAVORITE BAR. Hands down. Gage is the best bartender in Fort Myers. He makes the best drinks, wonderful personality. The whole vibe here is fun. I love the bootleggers alley for photos.
For bartenders, an absolutely terrible place to work at! The boss here is very greedy, and never keeps any bartenders any longer than 7 weeks maximum, and after the maximum of 7 weeks of you working here, he will send you out at will and without any warning, even if you did nothing wrong. And at the Indigo, 86, and The Edge room/nightclub, if you get sent out and told you don't have a job there any longer, about 98% of the time, it's not your fault at all, it's the boss's fault, it's the boss's rules that you have a job at Indigo or 86 room or Edge nightclub for no more than 7 weeks maximum. Bartenders, DON'T EVER even apply for a job here at all! Do not apply for a bartending position at Indigo, 86 room, or The Edge! You will NOT be treated well at all. And when the boss gets tired of seeing you at his 7 week maximum time limit, he will send you out without any warning, he will tell you that you no longer have a job here after you've worked here for 7 weeks. And he does this to all employees, he does this to everybody he hires, he keeps them for 7 weeks, and then lets them go without any warning or explanation. You have lots of other bars to bartend at if you want to be downtown and where I've seen bartenders last years; I've seen bartenders last half a decade or longer at other bars. Stay away from the Indigo and 86 rooms and The Edge. For customers, it's an okay place to have a drink, view the antique decorations, and maybe have a few tacos or quesadillas or dance to the music on the weekends. But don't get too comfortable with the bartenders here because they won't be here for long. There is a default ice barrier between all strangers, including stranger bartenders. There is a reason regulars leave and don't return for months or even years when they see a stranger behind the bar and are told that their friend doesn't work there anymore. It's that default ice barrier that exists between all strangers, the former regulars are not ready to break the ice again with a stranger, and they know that breaking the ice with strangers, even in Florida, is not an easy thing to do. The reason it is always so almost dead in there, even during snowbird season, is because of bartenders never lasting more than 7 weeks and because of the default ice barrier between strangers.
Went there for the first time Thursday night. And the I ordered a soda and ordered a mixed drink for my friend and I was charged 20$. The blonde hair girl took my order . Very scummy and low life bartender. How can you charge 20$ for a soda and one mixed drink. My friend said hey get another soda I said not for another 20$
Pool table ate change and didnt give balls, it even ate the que ball which is Supossed to never get caught. The music was static and going in and out at the dj tried to set up for an hour. Smelled like piss, and the service wasnt good. Overall would avoid unless you are dragged there by your party
The format for working here is 20 shifts. The instant you apply and get hired here, you get a total of only 20 shifts, whether at Indigo, 86, or Edge. After 20 shifts, the boss sends you straight out, tells you that you don't have a job here anymore, hires someone else, and repeats the cycle. It's no wonder they get no customers, because everyone is going to bars where bartenders are there for months and even years. They don't want to keep facing endless strangers behind the bar. And it's the same at 86 room and Edge Nightclub, all of which are run by the same boss.
Was having a great time. Bartenders were super nice. Up until my dad walked up to join us in the celebrations of his daughters 21st birthday and they tell him he can’t enter because he has a tank top on. I bring out the point that I, my sister, my mom, every other girl in the establishment is wearing tank tops. The bouncer literally said “it’s different because you’re girls”. That’s gender prejudice bro. Especially for a bar as chill as indigo, I’m very surprised.
