Good atmosphere, food was great

Visiting from NM, and family took me here for lunch. Delightful place on Lake Austin. A little windy to eat outside, but we explored the dock after. Grilled mahi-mahi on green salad with jalapeno ranch. Delicious. Our waiter, Jake, recommended balsamic on the side as well, and it was brilliant. Kid friendly.

Fantastic meal. Beautiful platters large enough to feed 4 people.

Worst drinks and margaritas I’ve ever had. Literally awful.

Absolutely love sitting on the bar furthest toward the water! Kirsten was our server she was a delight! So helpful on making selections!! Ordered the Aji tuna tacos. They were mad delicious and I ordered the Thai sauce to go on it. I love that sweet-and-sour flavor add! This is definitely a place where you could relax for a couple of hours and enjoy the water view the paddleboats going by… Great energy, beautiful view, good food, and not overpriced! Self serve chips and salsa on the bar we were at.

Avoid Hula Hut if you value your wallet and your taste buds. The drinks are a pricey letdown, either very watered down or literally syrupy. I understand paying extra to sit out on the water, but $70 for fries and a few drinks we couldn’t even drink they were so bad was beyond upsetting. Loved Lake Austin, but Hula Hut needs to do better. Way better.

The missing star is for the service, chips & salsa, and sweet tea.
