Hide always delivers when it comes to quality Sushi. Our family has been coming here for nearly 20 years. We often meet-up with friends here and they have always enjoyed the experience. Come early as the wait time (especially on weekends) can be lengthy. Kid-friendliness: Luckily our kids are well behaved in restaurants, as we're the other children there. I think in a busy and small place like Hide the staff appreciates not having unruly kids; at least one of the waitresses expressed appreciation for our kids being polite and behaved.
We stumbled in here one night and were delighted to find a great sushi spot with a cozy, authentic atmosphere. We had a variety of sushi and appetizers and some drinks and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Some of the best toro I had had in awhile.
CASH ONLY. Amazing service and super fresh sushi. Large thick cuts. Highly recommend the nigiri bowl. Cute little spot. Can’t wait to go back. Recommend - fatty tuna, eel, and mackerel Don’t recommend- geoduck, chirashi bowl, octopus
Out of all the Sushi houses in SoCal, they have a lock on buying the best fish. They are cash only but have an ATM
For a while now I've been coming to Sawtelle and have been meaning to come to Hide. I'm glad I tried it but I'm not 100% sure I'd come back. The sushi was just okay overall. There were a few standout pieces such as the yellowtail and some of the more fun specialty rolls. But a lot of the basics that I love such as tuna sashimi left something to be desired. It was not bad by any means but the cost was higher than I was expecting for sushi of this quality. There are better options in the area but it is definitely worth the try once.
We have been eating at Hide Sushi for many years (6+), the services and foods quality are consistently great.
