Hayley Cakes and Cookies

UPDATE: Although they would not issue a refund to our debit card, they did offer us a store credit for the full amount that my husband paid. I appreciate them doing something about this situation instead of blowing us off. Thank you. So sad and frustrated. Yesterday was my birthday and my husband ordered me a cake from here to celebrate as a surprise. Not only did the cake decorating look bad, the cake was inedible. Like truly inedible. My husband and I couldn’t even finish our slices. This cake was huge and not cheap, yet we had to throw the ENTIRE cake out. So wasteful! On my birthday I got ONE bite of cake. The cake was not cooked all the way, the frosting was “off” like it tasted like chemicals, and the texture of the frosting and cake was all wrong. The filling was TERRIBLE. It was strawberries and some sort of whipped cream. My husband also asked them to write my name on the cake board but they wrote it on the cake (a minor issue). Please see the photos we uploaded. Even after getting a refund (which we have not received yet), I’d still be super sad that we didn’t have a cake to eat and enjoy. We have already reached out to the bakery.

I ordered cookies from Hayley's Lamar location for my nephew's birthday. Since I live out of town I wanted information on what I could order for same day delivery. I spoke to Mason who seemed very disinterested in helping me determine what items would be available that day for delivery. Instead, he referred me to their website which used ChowNow as a delivery app. In my order I specified that the theme was a birthday and didn't want pastels. Not only did the order include mostly pastels, the cookies said "Happy Easter" and had bunnies and carrots on them. When I called to let them know the order wasn't what I specified, they blamed ChowNow for the mistake. I spoke with Felicia who was very helpful, however I'm still awaiting a call back from Mason.

Such a modern place. Very cute and very clean. Very colorful! Would totally recommend. Red velvet cake 10/10 favorite Brownie 10/10 Citrus cake 9/10 Can’t wait to visit again!

I'm thrilled to be able to get gluten free cake! The chocolate cake is to die for ❤️. Normally it's just cupcakes that are available. I have nothing against cupcakes it's just nice to have a slice of cake. I will have to try the white cake next. Hands down the best chocolate chip cookie I have had. While the selection of gluten free is small it is delicious. I don't have to drive across town for this anymore. I have my slice of heaven just around the corner. The counter help is young and not extremely friendly. I've been twice and I don't believe I've ever seen any of them smile. They are helpful though. Dietary restrictions: gluten intolerant or gluten sensitivity. I don't know if it is certified celiac. Which requires no cross contamination. Parking: 10 or more Kid-friendliness: Since I don't remember they're being dine in there. You can certainly bring your kids that they can pick out their own cookies Wheelchair accessibility: There are two disability spaces up front. With a ramp. Unfortunately, the landlord needs to repaint because I find people parking in the space between which is actually not a parking space.

Cookies for my daughter's baby shower were ordered and when I went to pick them up they were green instead of the blue as ordered. When I relayed this to the staff he quickly went to the back and a person I'm assuming was the chef (due the way she was dressed) came out and was very dismissive. No apology for the mistake. This interaction was very disappointing as I believe this situation could have been handled with kindness.

This sentiment was echoed in my communication with my credit card company, highlighting not just a personal disappointment but a recurring theme discernible in numerous reviews of your establishment. It seems I am far from alone in encountering this disparity between the service promised and that which is delivered. It's disconcerting to observe a business so seemingly detached from its clientele's needs, and I wish you luck as you navigate the ensuing repercussions, including chargebacks, from customers disillusioned by your inability to meet the standards you profess to uphold. --- I ordered custom cookies for my sisters bachelorette party. There’s opportunity to add notes about what changes you want to the cookies and I put clear directions on small tweaks when I placed the order 2 months beforehand. Upon receiving the cookies, the directions were disregarded. When I reached out to them, they said there was fine print saying you couldn’t make any changes and they offered me to refund me for the few cookies that we were dissatisfied with. I asked if they could instead just make us the cookies we requested or help us place an additional rush order and they were not willing to work with us on that. Had to spend additional money to get cookies elsewhere rush shipped so that we had enough for the event. In fairness, the cookies that came out well did look nice and taste good! However, the team should have called and let us know they weren’t able to make the modifications especially since we ordered well in advance. They left us in a bad spot scrambling for the special day since we had an insufficient number of cookies to use for the event.

I’ve tried to call multiple times and it gives you the option to speak to someone but never actually connects you. You came highly recommended and would have loved to grab a cake from you guys but no one can seem to pick up the phone so I can verify that you have any and which cakes are available. Maybe suggest that you remove the speak to someone (1) option if it’s not actually available? I guess we’ll stick to our Captain Quacks and Central Market yummy cakes. Was just hoping to add another place into the rotation but I guess not…

Stopped by today for a cookie, I got a soft sugar cookie, it was pretty good. My issue was being told that the packaged decorated cookies can be sold weeks after they are made. I then asked how fresh my cookie was and the lady quickly responded that they’re decorated daily. I’d probably get another soft cookie but not any large sugar cookies, I like my cookies fresh :)
