Halls Chophouse

Celebrated my birthday and the food is excellent. All the staff is amazing and very attentive. This place is a must go in Charleston

I recently celebrated my birthday at Halls Chophouse in Charleston on March the 7th. My dining experience couldn't have been better. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant, from entering the front door where I was enticed by wonderful live music and was professionally led up the staircase with my mother to a perfect table tucked away in a cozy corner of an upstairs dining room. Next, I was greeted by a super nice man named Marty who made it a priority to go ahead and wish me a happy birthday followed by two glasses of complimentary sparkling wine for my mother and I. I already felt comfortable, relaxed, and truly welcomed into this restaurant. My server Kevin, was phenomenal. He made my dining experience wonderful and he had such a genuine, charismatic personality. I enjoyed getting to learn more about his most recent endeavors on his past trip from Paris. Kevin was more than happy to explain any questions that we had about the menu and he also highly recommended the french onion soup that was DELICIOUS. Marty came by to check on our table at least two other times, and each time he would come it was a pleasure to engage in conversation with him. I believe the proprietor Billy Hall, came by our table as well at least once if not twice during my dining experience here. He was very kind and I truly felt valued as a customer at this restaurant. This was the best meal I have ever had on my birthday. For my entree I ordered a Medium Rare filet that was cooked to perfection, and my mother and I shared multiple sides including a black pepper cream corn with a bread crumb on top that was the best corn I have ever had, and we also had the brussels sprouts and baked macaroni and cheese, both which were delicious. The other two servers that delivered our sides and entrees were very genuine and professionally served us. Towards the end of our meal I couldn't even think about eating dessert but, the server that took our dishes away insisted on sending one with me to go. I decided on the cinnamon roll cheesecake that I ate the next day, which was also delicious. I will be retuning to bring my husband here for his birthday in August and I cannot wait to share with him the wonderful hospitality and the incredible food that this steakhouse has to offer, once again. I appreciated the high-quality customer service, generosity, and true humbleness that this restaurant provided to me on my birthday. If you are looking for a restaurant to eat at while your are in Charleston SC that you won't forget, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Halls Chophouse. You will be more than happy that you did.

Service is impeccable. We could not have felt more welcome on our first visit. Food is outstanding. Live music downstairs that we were able to hear upstairs. It was my husband’s birthday dinner and everything was truly perfection. Halls Chophouse is a special place!

Amazing service and attention to detail!

I went to Halls Chophouse on a girls trip with my two friends to celebrate my birthday and to celebrate that two of us are pregnant. The staff customized our experience and made us feel so special by bringing out grape juice in flute glasses (instead of champagne), and then gave a slice of cheesecake for us to celebrate my birthday. We didn’t request any of that special treatment, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel celebrated. To top it off, they sent us a thank you note afterward (see picture included) and mentioned our pregnancies and birthday celebrations! I’ve never had such a personalized experience at a chophouse, it was amazing. The food was phenomenal and our server explained every cut of meat and how it is prepared so that we were fully informed before ordering. Halls Chophouse was impressive from start to finish; during the rest of our girls trip we kept saying that we wish we lived in Charleston so we could keep supporting this restaurant. Thank you again, Halls Chophouse!

Simply Perfection!

The best of everything! We felt like celebrities walking in and being greeted by one of the owners and other staff on our anniversary date. The Japanese A5 Wagyu Filet was easily the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. Melt in your mouth. Leave your dentures at home. Emily was incredible and very helpful with recommendations, too!
