Food quality: It's ok, basically your generic grade Indian takeout. Nothing to write home about. I really don't know why this is featured on the NYTimes when there's hundreds of restaurants serving food at this quality and price around the NYC area. Decor/ambiance: It's as you expect. Everything is sorta run down and dirty, but we knew that going in, so nothing to complain about here. Service: The server got annoyed when my friend asked for water and forgot about his lassi. Again, this would've been ok if the food had made up for it. Came here with 2 of my friends and ordered 2 veggie dishes and 1 chicken dish (with some naan/rice) and the total somehow came down to $76 before tax. Definitely not worth it at that price. Go to any of the other south Asian restaurants on the street and you'll get similar (or better) quality food with better ambiance at that price.
The BEST spot for Indian/Pakistani cuisine. I am myself not very acquainted with the name of the dishes this place offers. Trust the staff, let them pick for you and you will not be disappointed. Apparently, the go-to place for taxi drivers. I hope the buffet will re-open soon!
On their day, they will give you the best desi food but they are very inconsistent with the taste and quality. I have ordered Haandi’s Biryani multiple times, but sometimes Biryani was not fresh and smelly. Moreover, they need to improve their service and upgrade the seating area. Dietary restrictions: Halal food available
We are visiting from California I try lahori chana naan bread and lamb kebabs omg the food was so delicious and price was very decent love the food
Haandi is my usual spot for great food in Manhattan. I have actually never been to the resturant and order online. The food is really tasty, always a winner. I do think the portions are okay sized compared to other places. Part of a Travel Guru Life Expedition
