Nice cozy spot for a comforting bowl of beef don
This hole in the wall sushi spot is over the top. Don't come if you are on a tight budget. You will just be torturing yourself. Ankimo is sometimes on the menu. The fish selection is lovely. The Chirashi at $38 is worth every cent. There are only 6 tables and 5 bar seats. Don't be surprised if there is a wait. Take out won't disappoint but if you can stay for service the staff is very attentive.
I am extremely disappointed with the service at Geta. This restaurant has been our go-to Japanese place for a long time since it first opened. Even during the pandemic, we continued to support them by ordering food. Today, I walked into the restaurant and requested a table for two, explaining that my husband would be joining me shortly. The waitress rejected my request, stating that their policy doesn't allow it. I offered to order for two people since they were closing soon, but I was rejected again. I expressed my frustration, explaining that I would pay for the food, and my husband was on his way. Unfortunately, they remained inflexible and unfriendly. I even spoke to the owner, who shockingly suggested that if I didn't like their policy, I should not come back. This is not how a business should be run. It's an unfriendly attitude towards loyal customers. Despite the service, the quality of the food has also declined. This will be my last visit to Geta. The food and service have deteriorated significantly. I won't be returning or supporting them in the future.
It was awful. It seems like the sushi chef was on vacation. Too much of everything see photo shows how thick the fish is and grotesque amount of real crab with Mayo. Sushi ought to be a delicate endeavor. This was sloppy and I just couldn’t eat it boohoo!
Geta is delicious. Fish is fresh, unagi is bomb. Just please wait for your whole party to arrive instead of walking in and out one million times crying about a very clear and necessary policy letting all the cold air in and waft over my hot don buri.
