Had a horrible experience here. Cold bread, cold mottled fondue that was coagulated, brown apples. . VERY dissappointed.
Ken is absolutely amazing!! Our community is so blessed to have him be a family member!
Fantastic service and a great atmosphere. Food was delicious too!
We come to town several times a year and we always go to friar tucks for drinks and dinner and to listen to amazing local artists. This place is so wonderful. Friendly, fun atmosphere and great food too. The bartenders are always wonderful and welcoming. Can’t say enough good things about the place. Vegetarian options: Lots of options on the menu
The day after our wedding, my wife and I dined while on our 'mini' honeymoon. My steak was incredible, my wine and cocktail easily among the best I've ever had. My wife adored her meal as well. At the end, the owner spoke with us, congratulated us, and prayed over us. It was a wonderful end to an unforgettable dinner. Thanks Ken!
Ordered 3 crab cake appetizers for my wife's birthday dinner, they were burnt, dry and couldn't tell if they were even crab. One order came without the dipping sauce. Our last two experiences here have been disappointing. Have been coming here for 25+ years, no more.
Friar Tucks is a legacy establishment that never fails. No matter the day of the week, the year, the economy, is never fails to live up to its excellent reputation. The food and service is amazing, and it’s a joy to be there on a night when Tucks’s iconic proprietor is mingling among the guests. Five stars all around.
Fondue tasted like powdered cheese mixed with wine. Service was lackluster. Food was cold. Was disappointed.
The service and atmosphere was excellent. The food, however was not. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller and the description stated 5 oysters per serving. I asked the waitress if it was 5 per person since the description said "share". She said it was 5 total, but the oysters were huge. They came out and were not huge. Good taste though. Salads were ordered. We both got the grilled beet and goat cheese salad. The goat cheese was on the bottom of the salad, but tasted good. The beets were not roasted and were probably boiled. Salad could have been served with half the arugula. Entrees were ordered. I ordered the duck and my spouse ordered the rack of lamb. The server informed him they were out of the lamb and suggested the pork shank. Entrees came out and presentation was good. I have never had duck so I wasn't sure what taste I was looking for. The pork "shank" was boneless and my spouse said it was a tenderloin. He said the mashed potatoes tasted instant. I tasted them and they did indeed taste like potatoe flakes. Moved onto dessert, and ordered the Maui pie and creme brulee. The pie was a cookie crust with a very thick vanilla ice cream with hard chocolate covered on top with macadamia nuts. The taste was nothing special and was nothing to write home about. My spouse said the creme brulee tasted like vanilla box pudding. Again, I tasted it and it did in fact taste like Jello pudding. We left out of there $200 (with tip) and didn't order any drinks or wine. The food was not the worst I have ever had, but it definitely could have been better for the money they are charging customers.
