Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Out of many solid virtues of this restaurant, the ambiance is its weakest point. The design is an old-world riches: wood paneling and darker colors, but it reads a bit outdated. That said, the food was AMAZING. An impeccable steak, vegetables on a perfect state of doneness (very easy to miss the narrow sliver of time between cooking and serving), and the wine was great. Very attentive servers paying attention to the smallest details.... We felt well cared for. The prices are on a higher end, but understandably so, as many people are pampering you.

My wife & I chose Flemings for our Easter dinner & it was a decision that we quickly came to regret. We ordered a shrimp cocktail & asked if the horseradish came on the side. The answer was “yes”. When it came out it had 3 small drops of horseradish on top of the cocktail sauce. Not a huge deal but the waitress seemed put off by our request for more horseradish. When we ordered our steaks, I ordered mine medium rare plus & the waitress looked at me like I had 3 heads & told me that they only can do medium rare or medium. After explaining that it was simply a temperature thing, she agreed but seemed very annoyed. We never saw her again. After 1.25 hours we still didn’t have our steaks. I hunted down a manager & asked for our check. I insisted on paying for everything that we consumed & didn’t want anything for free. The manager couldn’t have handled the situation any better & insisted that we take the food to go at no charge. I reluctantly agreed & gave her $50 for the kitchen staff. We will be back because of the manager.

Anniversary celebration was recognized from the beginning. Very nice. We've been here many times. Food from the start was of lesser quality and taste than in the past. Oysters served without proper accomplishments. Wife, pear salad sadly meager with no attempt at presentation. Wife's fillet was thankfully properly cooked and tasteful. My scallops were a sorry case for a $46 entree. Three medium size and two small. Disgraceful. Worse were the sides we ordered. Flemings potatoes were horrible and creamed spinach was a sad copy of what we had in the past. Won't be back if this is their new way of cooking.
