It was my first time walking into what I thought was a family run business. I expressed to them that it was my first time there and asked what was the most popular order. They told me it was the Philly cheesecake sandwich so that was what I ordered. The lady began to talk me up to distract me from the price. They rang me up for a regular Philly cheesesteak at $20. Listen, they charged me $20 for a takeout sandwich. It is a run down hole in the wall spot. But they charged me a sit down dining price. They gave me a decent amount of beef but not $20 worth. The sandwich tasted like nothing. Barely any seasonings it was like eating air. I am very disappointed that a business would try to do this to a first time customer. I assume they don't care about loyalty or repeat customers. I could have gotten that same sandwich (much better tasting) at Jersey Mike's down the street for much less but wanted to support a small business. Never again! Do better.
Originally from Philly. Grew up eating Pats and Steve’s and never in my life did I pay 19 dollars for a 10 inch cheese steak. Actually laughable. 43 dollars for two 10 in cheese steaks is crazyy. Regardless of taste, it’ll never be Philly. They don’t even got Wiz.
overpriced 53 dollars for 2 subs and 2 drinks that are basically pure ice and a sip of drink
I must say my recent visit to Famous Phil's subs shop exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in I could tell that this family run business was legit. In business for 60+ years, they really do pay close attention to quality. I ordered the steak bomb sandwich and it had plenty of flavor, steak was cooked perfect. Portions were large / enough to eat half and save half for later. One of the best cheesesteaks around and that's not a compliment I toss around lightly. Will def be back.
I grew up on this food and now I'm so glad my children are able to enjoy it. There is something about the charm, the family that owns it and oh yeah...THE SUBS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD
Always go when in town, never a disappointment!
Very solid sandwich but my bill was $25 for an Italian sub and a Diet Coke. That’s silly. I can get a bigger, debatably better sub at Publix for eight bux. Where did the extra $17 go?? Idk. I’d like to go here again but I won’t simply based on price… which you find out after you order.
