I came for Columbus restaurant week, and brought some out-of-town co-workers for their first experience. The food was cooked perfectly and the presentation was excellent. Everyone left full, happy and looking forward to their next visit.
This was my first time at Elevator, and my first time doing 614 restaurant week. Unfortunately foe Elevator, the special menu was lacking. I had the shrimp tempura, which was the best thing I ate there, beef medallions, and Buckeye brownie. The beef was lacking in flavor, and when my desert arrived, the ice cream was already half melted like it was sitting for a bit. My friend ordered off their normal menu, the food was better than mine, it was a disappointing 614 experience, and had it not been for the small tastes of my friends dinner, I would have thought Elevator was just another overrated restaurant in Cbus. My comment to Elevator is that if you are going to be a part of 614 experience given the new customer that this generates the same experience as any other customer. That is what will bring 614 partons back for full Elevator experience. Parking: We had to walk 3 blocks in the rain to get to the restaurant from where we parked. Definitely was not how we wanted to start our evening with the headache of finding a parking spot.
