El Patio Restaurant

This place has went down hill since the original owners turned it over to the grand kids. Went In to pick up a to go order and not one person said we will be right with you or tried to help me. The girl behind the bar just one step from the register just went on with what she was doing and ignored me. I kindly left seeing that no one wanted to help me and I wont be returning again.

Great place. Classic vibe. Love that they have been around so long. Still rolling with recipes they started with. Nice chat with the manager while we were finishing our meal. Great people.

I walked in I was greeted with nothing but rudeness. I repeated my order more than once & still got it wrong. I called & was told it was my fault. I asked for extra napkins & again was told there’s one in the plastic ware. No have a great day, nothing. I was greeted with better service with the vintage booths next door!! Horrible experience.

Food is good, book forever to get our food. Hostess was rude. Crispy tacos were not good.

I have eaten at El Patio for years. I always eat the cheese enchiladas sometimes with rice and beans. The paper thin corn tortillas and chili con Carne and the "commodity" bring back memories of my youth. I miss "Mama" Joseph and her girls but atmosphere is still Old Austin. The tortillas did not seem quite the same but the enchiladas were still excellent.

Cool place if you like UT, but the food is really bad

Ate here for lunch back in June. I grew up in Austin and my dad used to love going to this restaurant. My dad had passed away 7 months earlier so I thought it’d be fun to have lunch there. I was very disappointed. The chips were stale, the salad I ordered was shaved iceberg lettuce with slices of tomato& my meal was warm. Service wasn’t great either.
