Great, cheap enough food. LOVED the katsu sandwich, but the avocado buns and ESK bowl were good too
Definitely overpriced. I paid $12 for an $8 portion. These guys pay rent for 10 sqft and charge as if they had tables and waiters. I would only go back if they lowered their prices by half.
The Tofu plate was SO salty. Which was disappointing since I got it because the cook said he made good tofu. He attempted to fix it by adding more msg in the form of rice seasoning, which barely helped. My friend had the tofu curry and said theirs was very salty too. Maybe try your food first. I had high hopes for this place because of the reviews and friends but it depends on the cook you get I guess. Thai kun at the domain is much more consistently good.
Update: Food is back to being super on point! They also lowered prices and improved the rice. Stoked to have ESK back in regular rotation. ❤️ — Staff is always wonderful, but something seems to have changed with the recipes in the last month. The last couple times we’ve been they haven’t used whatever sauce is so good on the Tori Meshi, and tonight they slathered everything (brussels sprouts salad and tori meshi) in something that looks and tastes like sriracha, which is too sweet for Thai-fusion IMO. Prices are high everywhere, but an average takeout boat of karaage and rice slathered in sriracha isn’t worth $15. Hopefully it turns around soon because it’s been a reliable spot in the past.
Went to the high noon location last weekend and had a terrible experience. First…we stood there forever because homie wasnt even there. I thought maybe he was in the bathroom inside High Noon but he walked up from somewhere on the street. When I ordered the Thai Chicken Karaage i asked what “Karaage” means out of curiosity and he mocked me for asking. I also ordered the pork belly which he apparently forgot to make after 15 minutes when my boyfriend went to grab the food i guess he threw in some beet fries for free….also gross and SO salty. Coming from a girl who loves beets too (especially the pickled kind) then the kicker was….my pork buns were all bun and no pork!!!! It was literally just pieces of fat with a sliver of meat. I would have gone and said something if he hadn’t already been rude to me. Saving grace was the chicken….it was freaking GOOD!!! High Noon Also had a great Ambiance and live music so that was cool i love that bar. I don’t generally leave reviews but this was kinda unacceptable. Do better guy!
I had the katzu chicken bites and pork belly bowl. Delicious! And the guy was a trooper working solo with a crowd. Thank you!
Tofu karage. I didn’t please my wife tonight, but this did
Pretty poorly constructed pork belly (over-sauced and no texture). Thai chicken is basically fried chicken w some Thai seasoned veggies. Beets fries are ok….just fried beets.
