The Drying Shed is an East San Jose Foothills
I had the best french dip I’ve ever had. So yummy. The fresh bread loaf straight from the oven is out of this world. The fried zucchini was delicious. Definitely coming back.
There probably isn't anything new to add to a Drying Shed review that hasn't already been said. I was there for 2 separate events recently: dinner and dancing, and a funeral reception. So what I ate was from their buffet service. Yes, the place is a little tired. In 1977, I first visited the DS to receive a small scholarship from the Kiwanis Club. It doesn't look like they have remodeled mych since then. That sounds a little harsh, but the decor is very dated. There are water stains on the ceiling of the banquet room, and the men's room has a painted plywood door that encloses the toilet. The food from both buffets was just OK. Green salad, rolls, roast beef, chicken teriyaki, lasagna, and a pasta with red sauce. The chicken is cubes of breast meat in a sauce that is not teriyaki. It tastes like they added a little sugar to the roast beef au jus. The rest of the food was fine for what it is. The DS is one of the few places on the Eastside that has banquet capabilities. They know this yet do little improve their product. I can't speak about their dinners, which used to be, and hopefully continue to be, pretty good. The staff is friendly and professional.
Absolutely delicious! Great place for a nice dinner, great for dinner parties too!
Good food and great value.
