Chicagoans and visitors are up to an international treat. This restaurant is truly a Chilean jewel in the heart of Chicago's Uptown. Excellent local restaurant serving authentic Chilean cuisine, with emphasis in the best oven empanadas ever, arguably better than some of the ones you can buy in Chile. Other empanadas in their menu are Isla Negra (seafood) and Fried Cheese empanadas (see attached pictures). Ceviche and Pastel de Choclo are available via special pre-order.

As a Chilean American it’s hard to find vegetarian Chilean food and there were 3 vegetarian empanada options. I tried the napolitana empanada and was pleasantly surprised by the seasoning that made it seem like I was eating a margarita pizza. This was a unique and creative spin on the traditional empanada I am used to. I also tried the Chilean tomato & onion salad and it was delicious and authentic. Last but not the least, the alfajores were so fresh and perfectly sweet that we ordered one plate and quickly ordered the second. The owner was polite and knowledgeable about the food and culture. I’m visiting the area but will definitely be back! Vegetarian options: Empanada and Chilean salad

The empanadas were delicious (Clasica and Neapolitan)! The corn pie and tomato salad were absolutely delicious and so fresh and authentic. To finish up the meal, we had the Alfajores and ordered more! They were so perfectly sweet. I went with my Chilean boyfriend’s family and they all said it’s authentic and highly recommended it!

It is the only Chilean restaurant in the Midwest. Pablo Soto is the owner, a very nice guy who lived in Chile until he was 21. Over the pandemic, he started the restaurant. I tried the Pastel de choclo, and it was really good. I had never tried anything like it. If you get the chance, it is a great place to stop by and grab a bite or enjoy a full meal.
