Great place! My wife and I had a wonderful dining experience there. First time in SD and it didn’t disappoint

What a gem Dobson's is! We felt transported to another time period. Bartender Mike is the best!

Went to Dobson's for the first time before a show at the Civic Theater. The interior styling is very old fashioned/historical feeling and made the dinner feel like a very special occasion. Also the crab cake is a must, one of the best I've ever had. The service was very quick and attentive, But they got multiple drinks wrong (I ordered a sparkling water with lemon and it came with lime, my dad ordered a cocktail with Woodford rye and it came with bourbon) and only one person ordered bread and they brought it out for the whole table (and charged $1.75 per person). Luckily, it was fantastic bread, very tasty and fluffy and warm, but the butter was way too cold to spread... You think after 40+ years in business they would know to let the butter soften up a bit before service. Lastly, both the sea scallops and the filet mignon chez Martin were good not great, and our steak knife had built up crusty mold in the handle indents as if they had only been cleaning the blade of the knife for years.... Overall, Lots of ups and downs. Might return, but with all of the other options in the area, might not.

This place has a fun, casual atmosphere that I loved. Great bartender too. Music on Tuesday nights. I’ll be back!

We truly enjoyed dining here. Great for date night.
