District Kitchen + Cocktails (Anderson Lane)

District was able to accommodate our large family party last minute and provided wonderful customer service and food. I was very thankful for how easy going the host and server were about us adding more people and moving tables as our party grew. Food came out very quickly and was wonderful. Thank you guys!

Really disappointing service. Came in for happy hour and sat in the lounge area. One bartender had about 10 bar seats plus 5 small tables. He was clearly doing his best and was very friendly, but struggled to keep up throughout the meal, especially when the whole bar and every table filled shortly after we arrived. Normally I wouldn’t complain about slow service, but I want to note that a woman manager was on the floor for the entirety of my time in the dining room, behind the bar for a significant amount of time, but at no point did I see her actively assisting the staff or touching tables. I watched her do menial tasks behind the bar and chat with servers (who also did nothing to help our poor bartender) while my girlfriend and I waited 40 minutes before flagging someone down to find out our entrees were never rang in. At this point the manager came over and apologized. I cancelled the order, she took care of our drinks and gave us $10 vouchers for “next time”, and we left. I’m glad we didn’t have to pay for the drinks, but the bottom line is if any of the 8 front of house employees had checked on us at any point, the whole situation would have been avoided. 2 stars because the drinks were good and the falafel was good even though it took 20 minutes to come out lol.

My girlfriend and I ate dinner at the the bar and it was tremendous. Alán gave us over the top service paired with great drinks and great recommendations. I had the trout and my SO had the wagyu steak as well as a crème brulle brownie and I would do it all again. Highly recommended!!

I came in with my friends. We had food and drinks, and these cocktails are AWESOME!!! the bartender is amazing, I think I had the best espresso martini!

The food was delicious. Recommend the grits, beignets, and the fried egg sandwich. Kid-friendliness: Good kids menu.

Everything was great except I didn't like the duck fat gravy very much. It was alright, just weird. Nothing against the restaurant or anything.

Really disappointed with the service and the portion of bread served with the shakshuka. The shakshuka came with 1/4th of a thick piece of pita bread. Like an absolutely laughably tiny portion. We asked for more bread. We were charged $1 extra for this, it showed up AFTER my husband had already finished his food. The server also did not inform us there was an up charge. I ordered the eggs Benedict. I asked if I could substitute the English muffin for a biscuit. The waiter asked and said yes. He did not inform me of the $2 up charge this would add to the bill. I have worked as a waitress and you never just assume a customer is OK with an upcharge? I always asked... We were not given cutlery by the time our food arrived. Took even more time to get a spoon without which my husband could not start eating his food. We ordered food first and mentioned we wanted to order drinks. Waiter never came back to get our drinks order. Finally went in and gave the hostess our order. Was handed the check in the middle of my meal. I'm not sure why the waiter wanted to know if I wanted dessert when I wasn't even done with my food. There were 5 empty tables next to us, so it wasn't a rush or anything. Just extremely confusing. I guess the waiter just decided he didn't like us or something? We didn't say anything in the moment given that any ONE of these things happening could just be an oversight/bad day — but all of this put together is pretty egregious. Edit: Amir reached out to me and assured me that they are working on the issues I brought up. They have excellent food and have had good service in the past so I'm updating my review to 5 stars. Will update again once I make another visit to the restaurant.
