Very good atmosphere, somewhat slow service and overall kind of mediocre food for the price. The highlight of the meal was the appetizer - chicken liver crostini. We thought the margherita pizza was a bit overcooked. The ragu pasta was pretty good but the tripe pasta was way too heavy. Service was VERY slow and overall just not worth the price.
First time here. We expected more from a Michelin star restaurant. My wife just had pasta and sauce. The pasta was firm and there was not much sauce. Mine was really good, don't remember the name but the noodles were perfect and the meat sauce was abundant. I ended up giving my wife half so she felt like she had a meal. 4 stars might be generous, but they could have had an off night. We may try them again.
I recently had a delicious meal prepared by Delfina's, although it was not at the restaurant itself. Delfina's is not only a top-notch restaurant, but it also cares about its community members in San Francisco, particularly those with disabilities, low- to moderate-income, the homebound, non-English speaking persons and the elderly who are in need of free tax assistance. During tax season, I volunteer weekly at The Women's Building SF as part of the national Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Delfina's generously donated 5 of their amazing dishes to the volunteer staff who were working on taxes and helping the community with their tax returns. Businesses like Delfina's are wonderful examples of local establishments that not only serve great food, but also give back to the communities they operate in. My colleagues and I are grateful to Delfina's for their superb dishes and I am definitely looking forward to dining at the restaurant in person. Thank you, Delfina's.
Does Delfina really need another review? This place has the best service, awesome pastas and delicious starters and pizzas. It’s the kinda place you book if you want to ensure you have a good night out. Our lamb leg dish was way too rare, however, and for that cut of meat to be rare it gets very chewy. Surprised the kitchen didn’t catch that but y he lamb leg was the only thing we didn’t like. Everything else was
Mediocre service, ok food but very small portions. Surprisingly limited food options (only 2 types of pizza). Very over priced + 7% SF mandate + 15% expected tip. They spent a lot on design. Hard pass vs. penne Roma or barilla cooking at home.
Need lessons on hospitality and common courtesy.
The lamb was absolutely delicious. Prepared with Italian parsley, white wine, butter sauce vibe.. wow- I had popped in for pizza, not expecting that level of cuisine. Also loved the chicken liver crostini, and the Cabernet wine was on point!
