Although I was a returning customer, I will never come back to this restaurant again!! Horrible service, even though there were only 2 tables ahead of us! The food looked appetizing but severely lacked salt. I get it… salt is based on personal taste but there were no salt shakers on tables. We ordered 6 dishes and were provided with 3 napkins. No one checked on us throughout the meal. When it came time to checkout and we asked for more boxes and something to pack the naan, we were told to SHOVE and squish the naan into a tiny a** container! Abhorrent and not worth it. The lack of customer service and care, lost a returning customer. Also the toilets were DISGUSTING and filthy!!! Save your money and time… plenty more deserving Indian restaurants in the city!
This is a hidden gem. Food is amazing with options for everyone. Even that vegan friend you have to plan for every time you go out will be happy. It's well priced for such high-quality food. Parking was okay, and there was no wait. It's a pretty big place, and seating is spread out to give you a lot of room. The atmosphere was a bit more like a catering hall, but it was still good for dining in. The one small negative was that the bathroom was a little under cleaned and serviced. (Water on the floor) Overall, Dancing Yak's food was awesome, and everyone needs to check it out for themselves! We had goat thali, chicken thali, and himalayan wings. They ran out of momos but we were surprised to see guests who arrived after us being served momos because the server catered to them sooner. Service definitely could've been better. The thalis tasted great but missed a few quintessential Nepali thali items like aloo tama (black eyed peas soup with potato and fermented bamboo shoots), and had only one type of dal - a watery yellow dal. The wings tasted better with the extra sauce wiped off with the napkin.
We ordered thali and chicken wings. The food was not tasty. Service was ok. Lack of Cleanliness was another issue. I think they should improve the food quality and cleanliness.
Delicious! The lunch special allows 2 choices. Aloo cauli and Chana masala were quite flavorful, as was the included lentil soup and naan. Chai tea was a treat.
Checked out this new restaurant with a friend for lunch on a Wednesday. It's in the same space as Ashoka used to be. There were about 3 other tables that were occupied besides ours. We ordered the chicken mo mo steam dumplings. They had a nice Nepalese flavor to them and dumpling skins were delicate. We both enjoyed them. We opted for their $13.99 lunch specials that came with two choices, lentil soup, naan wedges, and rice. The chicken breast meat in the curry and vindaloo were a bit dry. The goat curry meat was excellent and tender. The cauliflower aloo was delicious. The service was good too! We were checked on often with welcoming smiles.
Very nice ambience and the food is so good
