Punished for having a high tolerance. I started going to D4 when I moved into the area about 4 months ago. I found the staff friendly and thought the food was good. But today, I experienced something I've never experienced before in my whole adult life of drinking at bars. I was not allowed my last drink at last call. The bartender who I had even become friendly with said "at their discretion" they felt my last drink would be overserving. I was drinking prosecco, not hard liquor. And I wasn't exhibiting signs of intoxication, let alone tipsyness, yet they cut me off. I'm actually writing this after leaving there. I wonder if they'll do the same for the super drunk people who will most definitely be there next week for St. Paddy's. If I were slurring my words and incoherent, that would make sense. But to just decide by amount... that I haven't heard of. I have a high tolerance to hard alcohol so my tolerance to wine, which is on average 13% abv, is even higher. I've only seen this happen to people who have clearly had enough. I even let them know I wouldn't return if they were going to go this route cause I could've just bought myself a bottle of the same prosecco for much less and drank it at home. They still denied me the last glass of prosecco. It's unfortunate cause I've seen the same person serve obviously drunk people before: a drunk guy that even harassed me one night at this bar. They claim they were looking out for me, but I feel like they may have had to open a new bottle and didn't want to at the end of the night. If they had told me that instead, I would've understood, and they would've avoided losing me as a regular customer. Since I was drinking by the glass, the cost of how many glasses I had already exceeded the cost of a full bottle by a little over $20. Yet, I had not even had enough glasses to equal a bottle. I was happily patronizing a local business over drinking at home and saving a bunch of money. So, the attempt to gaslight me into thinking I'm drunk has left me incredibly disappointed, embarrassed, and a little hurt. I sadly won't be returning nor ordering takeout anymore. I hope that the bartender learns to judge better.

Had a nice family dinner here. The burger was delicious along with the French onion soup. The atmosphere was really nice sitting in the room with the fireplace. Perfect place for a cold Chicago evening.

My husband, brother in law and nephew just went in there about 5 min ago, and the service wasn't friendly, the stares from everyone, need to say it was un welcoming. We are black. We were celebrating a homegoing for my sister in law and decided to step in and have a couple of drinks. We just decided to have a shot and leave.
