Tiny hole in the wall, but the food is delicious! Don't let the appearances of this place fool you — come in and try the imperial rolls and five spice chicken!
*they are temporarily closed until april 2 great great great amazing place - good food good prices good service.
Love this place! Sit at the counter (only one table) and watch the women cook right in front of you. Absolutely delicious!
walked 30 min to go here, said it was open on google maps, and it was closed.
Great hole in the wall!been coming here since 1970 something?? I love the cabbage salad w/ the rice and all,a true san francisco experience .not a snob spot 5 spice chicken, yum!
Went last night for the first time in a long time and things had changed. While the imperial rolls are some of the best in the city, my noodle salad with the 5 spice chicken was bland and flavorless. There were also a ton of small bones in the salad and big snotty pieces of fat and gristle. The vegetables in the salad were practically nonexistent. My new favorite spot for this kind of Vietnamese fare is Kim Son in the outer Richmond. WAY better chicken and their rolls are huge and flavorful. Bummed Katy has slipped at CB - used to love her spot. Place is also horribly filthy - maybe it’s always been and now I’m just noticing it more.
I've been patronizing this place since its beginning. It has always been my "to go" place for Vietnamese comfort food. On this recent visit, I found the food rather disappointing. The sauce was watered down with very little meat. The taste was still there but rather weak. In the past visits, the chicken marinade went to the bone, was tender and so tasty. The time, the chicken was not well marinated nor did the meat fall off the bone. The beef was dried and not marinated well. The only thing that tasted the same was the egg roll.
