This was a welcome stop on my walking tour of SF. The barista asked if it was to go or for here, and I'm glad to see a comfortable, reusable porcelain cup for the "here" customers. The staff helped me find an outlet for my phone as I sipped. The coffee was a little more acidic for my taste; that is a preference. It was very good coffee. The price was lower than I expected.
The best coffee in the Bay Area, so far.
Favorite place to get a latte in the city
From a Washingtonian taste, this is pretty good
Not bad coffees and tea- their touch of grey stuff is good. Butterfly Joint in the Sunset is a similar take out place and their teas/coffees are far superior and creative especially the plant based varieties (not to mention their A++ homemade pastries). Comptons sadly has very limited pastries; we’ve been here three times and each time there was either one snickerdoodle cookie left or the guy in front of us snagged the very last savory pastry. Service was ok, even though they have a dining area and 1-2 seats outside, this is a strictly take away spot IMO. Too cramped a dining room, tough to enjoy any beverage when there’s little personal space and too many people bumping into you or weirdos staring at you. Boychik Bagels is about to open four doors down; can’t wait to enjoy a great bagel & coffee in a much more relaxed setting.
