Intended to come here for a group dinner but the rest of the group canceled so my husband and I came for a date night instead. It has been at least two years since we dined here last and we certainly won’t wait another two years to come back. They didn’t always take reservations, but I am so happy that they do now! We were asked to wait in the garden when we arrived at the restaurant but our table was ready within 10 minutes. Our server gave great recommendations and all of the dishes we shared really hit the spot. We had the charred broccoli salad, grilled cabbage, bolognese and the broccoli pizza. Our only slight misstep was the pizza. It was very good but I think we both just assumed it would have mozzarella in addition to the feta listed on the menu. Our mistake and not theirs but I do prefer a cheesier pizza. Service and ambiance were both great and we were glad we ended up keeping the reservation when our friends had to cancel. Vegetarian options: Tooooons of vegetarian options. Starters, salads, pizzas and pastas. Dietary restrictions: Has gluten free options etc. Parking: Street parking. Not super difficult to find parking but not wildly convenient.
Good spot with good food and reasonable pricing. I got takeout and ordered the dishes below and enjoyed them all. Note that the Cacio is a bigger dish than the cavatelli - Cauliflower - Cacio e Pepe - Cavatelli
They have reached the plateau of, "we are so good if you don't come back we don't care." I was charged $1 for lousy bread and $2 for the butter. It was not on the menu and I was not told there was a charge. I looked at bill and addressed with waitress. She said that's how it is, rolled her eyes, and left. Food was very mediocre and I felt like I should feel privileged to get to eat there. Too many awesome Italian restaurants around Houston that want your business...... Will not be back.
Our waiter was a consummate professional. We were treated like mob bosses. Food was over the moon. Just warmed my leftovers for breakfast. I want to rub it all over my body it's so good.
Incredible Gin and tonic. Great drinks overall. Rich and light pizza. Pasta is from scratch. Can't go wrong with either.
Rude service - rushed us out of our table and made us finish eating in the garden with plates on our laps. We hadn't even been there that long and were actively ordering more. The waitress in the garden (not our server at our table) was wonderful, but when it came time to leave, our original server came over after we hadn't seen him in forever and asked us each how much we'd like to leave as a tip - so awkward. For extra context, this was when they first started taking reservations, and we didn't realize this, so they seated us (there were plenty of empty tables as we got there very early) but they were rushing us the whole time and extremely rude and the waiter kept condescendingly saying we should've known they take reservations now. I think they didn't know how to time their seating with the reservations yet, which I understand, but why seat us in the first place then? And why be so rude? I've never been back. Too many great restaurants in Houston to justify going back somewhere with bad service even though the ambiance and food is great.
