I’ve never eaten in the restaurant only ever take out but OH MY GOD. Seriously the best Chinese food I’ve had so far in Santa Rosa. I always get the chicken chow mein and potstickers, never been disappointed!
I was excited to have a new Chinese restaurant near our home in Rincon Valley. Unfortunately, China Village has been very disappointing! I decided to take my family here on Christmas Day in 2023. We patiently sat there for 20-30 minutes, just waiting to be acknowledged. One of us finally had to wave an employee towards our table so that we can begin to order. I just thought they were busy and understaffed, so I gave them a pass that day. I’ve returned a couple times after that for pick up. Every single time, I felt deliberately overlooked. The last time, I waited at the bar. Again, no acknowledgment. A gentleman came after me and was acknowledged right away. I don’t know what’s happening in this restaurant but needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Why expose yourself to this sort of treatment when other Asian restaurants in the area, like China Legend and Savor, treat their customers better? I’m curious to see how many other people have had this experience here.
Today I ordered Mongolian beef from the lunch menu. The menu says It’s spicy yet there is no spice. With the Mongolian beef, I ordered, half-and-half, fried rice, and chow mein. There was no flavor just grease. I’m very disappointed
Great place to enjoy some well cooked asian cuisines and very generous pours of wine. A must eat if you have the cash.
This place is slept on. Best Chinese food in SR.
What happened to this place?! Do they have a new chef? Lunch today was terrible. Food was so bland and dry, no one in our party finished theirs. Tea was barely lukewarm, and service bordering on rude. I used to love this place, but I don't know if we'll ever go back. What a shame!
Service was horrible. Order by phone incorrect order and the lady was very rude saying that order something that I never did and she was talking to me in a rude way. Client has to be priority. Probably nerves again order here. Don’t so negative lady love is caring. Happy new year
These pictures are of their Mushu Pork. Now, I've had plenty of Mushu Pork throughout the Bay Area and this is by far, the skimpiest, least flavored, and most water based I have ever had. The "Pork" looks boiled and like it hasn't touched a flame at all. I'm eating more of a stewed slaw in a pancake than anything. My wife got the War Wonton soup and it tasted more of a vegetable stock and mainly vegetables than anything. Finally, the Garlic Chicken we got was again, extremely watery and tasted like it came from a boiling pot yet again. For the price of 3 dishes and a large soup, it was about $70...not impressed at all and will find something else, I recommend you do the same.
