Places isn't much to look at but they have excellent brisket I just ordered a sliced brisket sandwich to go and I will be definitely coming back....yummy smoked flavor!!!!
Brisket was terrible. Sausage was meh. Waste of money...hard to believe they've been around for 20 something years.
This place is a dumpster, The food was overpriced leftovers, I would have felt better giving my money to the homeless, I swear these people are on drugs, Dirty looking, Im convinced this food was microwaved by a crack head, This was not fresh meat, the corn was frozen HEB brand, I get home and 2 items are missing from bag, I hated this place so much i didnt drive back for a refund, likely would have been told im lying, I spent 90 dollars on garbage, I feel sick after eating this food, It comes in a dirty brown bag from Heb, Bread was just from the store served in the store bought bag, total white trash establishment, So bad i had to write a warning for others, NO EAT HERE,
Don't let the looks of the place deceive you. Great food and service.
Every time we come here everyone is so nice! We always get THE HOMER!! Omg so delicious! My bf and I sat outside and ate.. it was really nice.. awesome place to come for some good bbq food! Everyone is so cool and sweet
I've been stopping at Chiefs when I pass by for about 10 years. The chopped beef sandwich has always been on point. The staff seems happy over the years and ten to stick around longer than expected. It's always the same experience. I'm driving passed this area of austin and I See chiefs! I stop in, I drive home satisfied. I never seek it out but it's there right on time. That's why I would elect Chiefs as one of the lesser known restaurants to keep on the radar. Numerous gems line the austin infrastructure. It's to those gems that we owe Austin's originality and ease of living. Keep Austin weird and alive!
Picked up a pound of Turkey, a few pounds of Ham, and a couple of links of sausage. Turkey was great, moist and flavorful. Ham was also very good but a little salty. Menu said Elgin sausage but I actually found it less greasy than Elgin sausage I've had in the past. Perhaps they smoke it longer, as it had great flavor and very meaty. I've had their brisket in the past and it's very good. Good BBQ sauce. Joe Bob's beans are great and they have good burgers. Try The Barney and The Homer, fantastic.
The food here is top notch, but how can you operate a restaurant without bathroom facilities. One person in our group no longer has a gall bladder and must use the facilities nearly immediately after any meal with fat in it. According to the info I see online this is against the law. In any event it's poor customer service at best.
