Cute idea, but the "fresh" cake they gave me was moldy.
Quaint Historical Deli. We read about it in a book about the history of Italian’s in San Jose. We ordered a meatball sandwich and a 1908 Garlic Sausage sandwich. Both were delicious. The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful.
I haven't been back here since I was a kid came by to try the sandwiches out they were kind of out of a lot of stuff but this place was definitely amazing sandwiches are always amazing here and at a reasonable price if you're in town and you want a quick bite to eat they definitely got a nice sandwich
Went there this weekend with family. Great ravioli and meatballs. Bought some sausage to go. Met Mr. Chiramonte and talked about his Grandfather and the history of the shop. Going back.
This place is so good! I highly recommend the Pepper Steak sandwich with steak sauce, Dry-Cured Italian Salami sandwich, and the Hot Italian Sausage sandwich. The sourdough roll is soft and perfect. The service there is good as well! Looking forward to trying out their raviolis and pasta. This place has been here for a while, there’s great vintage pics and items to look at.
If you love history, tradition, family and a sense of community then this is the deli for you. Oh and the Sausage can't be beat!
This deli gives you a real slice of history. I imagine this place being mostly unchanged going way back. I had a really tasty meatball sub, albeit on a rather stale roll. I wasnt suprised that there was No dressing. Meatball subs usually just come meat and sauce, perhaps with cheese. However the state of the roll made this a dry yet soggy sando. I wanted to like it so much more. They have shelves of Italian goods, and house made italian sausage, which I couldn't resist. They had some other hot sandwiches on the menu that looked amazing. Ill give them another try. Nice neighborhood location with a large park with several tennis courts nearby and nearby dog park around the corner
