Great dining experience! Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel Chair accessible.
It is smaller than Swamp Tails, but the food is good and the draft beer is awesome. They were running short in crawfish and oysters tonight because of some national shortage, so hurry up. The bartender was excellent tonight.
We LOVE a Cajun Steamer and we found this one in Trussville. We sat at the bar. Service was great. Food was okay, I had the Cajun Trio (etouffee was good, jambalaya was overcooked, red beans and rice were undercooked) not as good as the Hendersonville TN location... the reason for the 3 stars is the reason we had to leave or we would have ordered dessert and more drinks! A person seated at the bar had allegedly too much to drink, was playing You Tube songs from her phone as she sang along LOUDLY to each one, Suspicious Minds was her favorite as we heard that one several times... then the F words started... LOUDLY again and with children within hearing distance... MFer, F U... over and over. My husband said to the bartender, "Can you do something about her?" Bartender replies, "She's a regular." So, we and the poor gentleman next to us (who decided not to order food after that), paid our tab and left. Unfortunate this is the attitude and sad this is acceptable to that staff that day.
I went to lunch here on Wednesday, January 17th with my aunt. This was our first time eating here. It was extremely cold in the dining area. The music was incredibly loud, and we could not carry on a conversation because we couldn’t hear each other. There were only a handful of people in the restaurant at lunch. My aunt ordered the fried catfish and fries. I ordered the trio with crawfish etouffe, red beans and rice, and jumbalaya. We also shared an appetizer of fried pickles. First, all the food came at the same time, which I don’t have too much of a problem with. When she sat my plate down, I immediately noticed a long hair in the etouffe. When she finally came back, I asked for another bowl. When I finally got my food back, the red beans and rice were cold and the etouffe was so salty I could not eat it. It was burning my mouth it was so salty. The red beans and rice was dried out, old, and cold. The jambalaya was barely edible. It was also cold. My aunt’s food was better, but she said she would not come back for it. When the waitress asked me about my food, I told her I really couldn’t eat any of it (due to saltiness and cold temperature) as evidenced by the fact my food was barely touched. I had taken insulin before I ate, so then I had to worry about my blood sugar because I couldn’t eat the food. The waitress did not apologize or seem to care that my food was barely touched and inedible. I just wasted $22 on food I couldn’t eat. I very rarely go out to eat, so this was very disappointing to say the least. We will never go back to this restaurant. Absolutely horrible.
Always a pleasant experience. The gumbo is delicious.
